Rios is ridiculously skilled on the inside.

Abril never let Ríos bully and push him, in fact he was the one pushing Ríos down. It's incredible that Ríos's corner never corrected this. Or is it that Ríos simply doesn't have to skills to prevent that?

Last time I looked it was about CONNECTED punches. But things may have changed, I don't know.

Exactly. To bad you can't count. Rios banged away while Agirl held.

Rios landed a left to the body and 2 lefts upstairs in that gif. He stopped loading up early in that fight because Abril was picking them off.

Rios won the fight with April. It is time to get over it. All Abril did was run and hold and he lost the fight because of it.

Sure, hitting Abril's gloves with his forearms. Why can't you just face he was simply owned and he had no response at all because he's very technically limited? Would it hurt your manhood? Would it make you a lesser man? Would your mighty hero fall from grace? Inferiority complex I call.

''Brandon Rios is a serious infighter!'' - Roy Jones Jr

All brandon wants to do and is really good at is infighting.
his only issue is that he doesnt jab with a jabber whilst closing the range.
his defense is alot better than people give him credit for. he knows where to put his head before/after a punch on the inside. he blocks, parries and rolls fairly good, not on james toney or dwight qawi level but good for a mexican peek a boo type of fighter.

i think anyone who stands infront of him from 147 down will get torn apart (except maybe mayweather), he's just too good on the inside. the way he rips them uppercuts 1,2,3.

There was very little holding, that gif doesn't lie. That was what Abril did.

Let's see. Rios was just on HBO in a major fight and is now being talked about for a major payday. Yeah, sounds like April really won to me too. :rofl

Abril did a lot of holding in the 2nd half of that fight. I had him up like 4-2 after 6 rounds, but he stopped punching in the 2nd half and gave the fight away.

Rios is more exciting and thus will get bigger fights, as he sells more tickets.

But I and many others felt Abril won quite clearly.

See above. While April clinched, Rios punched. The judges got it right. Holding is not ring generalship and dictating the pace of the fight. April got EXACTLY what she deserved for her ***** tactics. If you realize Rios WAS landing punches while in the clinch while April was landing nothing while fouling you will understand the fight scores turned in by the official judges. One thing they get that you don't get at home is the sound of the punches. This one is not the robbery people on this forum make it out to be.
