No.What do you guys think mitchell(twice) urkal judah tackie hurtado ruelas rodriguez bergman gonzalez leija old chavez is that really enough to make you an ATG.
He is one of the greatest Light Welterweights of all time. That makes him one of the greats in my book. At 140, I only rank him below Julio Cesar Chavez. His resume is arguably better than Pryor's.
I think yes. As stated he dominated the 140lb division. If we consider Ali an all time great for staying in the same weight division, then we have to consider Tsyzu plain and simple. Instead of just saying "no"...try and elaborate abit why?
He would probably be in the bottom of my top 100. He's top two or three in the 140 lb. division, that gets him there.
he didn't beat anyone at 140 to be considered top 5 atg at 140 let alone in relation to history. zoo also lost to two fighters like hatton and phillips. are you saying phillips and hatton would of had a chance again pryor
Tyson lost to Douglas... Tyson lost to Williams. Is he that bad as his losses? No, that's a bad argument. Tszyu has beaten better opponents than Phillips and was only defeated by Hatton in a very close fight up to the stoppage (by own corner, kinda suddenly), in an pro-Hatton crowd and event and he lost to Hatton after a very long layoff, after injuries and at a quite old age (just the Mitchell fight in 2 years) You have to look at Kostya's opposition, pro, contra, way of victories, way of defeats, domination in weight class, avoided opponents (if there's any), overall skill level, performance on big stage, maybe charisma, fame etc...
Falls just short. But I suppose its down to how strict you are. I prefer not to worry weather a fighter is worthy or not of a particular label and just appreciate them for the ability displayed in the ring. Its a mark of how good he is that he's just about the only recent fighters who had an ok(ish) chance of beating Floyd. If you see his schooling of Vernon Forrest you'll know what I mean.
