Floyd Patterson was an up and coming HW just starting to make some real money, so he decided to take his wife who was pregnant at the time, out to dinner. On there way back to the car after the meal one guy try robbing him at knife point...Floyd hit the guy with a 1-2 and that man spent the rest of his days suckin food through a straw...In an Interview with HC he said he would never throw another punch outa anger again..Floyd felt bad for the guy..I say he tried robbin the wrong guy!

Rocky Marciano while was he was in the army allegedly KO'd a big aussie bloke who was instigating Rocky with a single right hand. IIRC that's why he was asked to join the boxing team, which was the first time he ever laced them up. Funny how things turn out.

As most know John L Sullivan would travel to bars around the country making bets that nobody could last more than a few minutes with him and offered cash rewards for those that did. None ever claimed the reward.

Would Jimmy Wilde's days in the Boxing booths of old, count?

Wilde -- never weighing more than 105 pounds -- routinely knocked out grown men (whom outweighed him by upwards of 100 pounds, at times) all whilst just 16 years old.

And this constitutes the only victory the Italians can claim over the allies for the entire Second World War.

Its fkin mental mate. Cant really make head or tail of it only that its full on and no quarter is given or taken (though the Aussies beat **** outta us a few years back, dirty ****s:lol:). Them GAA men are big strong fit guys and they looked mediocre (dirt-wise) compared to the aussies. I wouldnt fancy bein in the middle of one of those games.

In fact i think they cancelled it one year until everybody shook hands and were friends again. Some of the tackles were straight outta Homers DVD of sports injuries

Yeah I'm pretty sure big George can still whip some ass. Not in the ring of course, but if he grabbed a smaller guy by the shirt with one hand, while clocking him with the other, it would still make a mess.
