Hello Lad, liverpool is my home town and i hear what your saying, the problim is with the big fights most lads there only go for the main event and the bigger the arena the more you get just wanting the main event hence there hanging round at the bar or in the toilets, this isnt just Liverpool though on going to see Bomber in the smoke it was the same there, guys snorting in the gents, its the way all over now, so lets not jst blame the echo. This is why i like going alone to fights as most lads only follow/want to see the main bout were i like to follow all the lads fighting. hope im making sense, stephen
Go out in any city center in the UK on a weekend and you see people kicking **** out of each other for no reason, your actually surprised that it happens in a boxing venue? Just by watching it on TV you can tell its 90% nobheads that attend. Drink a few pints then watch the fight whilst trying to shadow box!! If you dont want to be in an atmosphere where you feel you may be in danger then dont attend. go to a football derby and you have police everywhere, big ******* horses aswell. Go to a boxing venue and you have door stewards that dont get paid enough to get a broken nose. something needs to be done. Oh and avoid Price v Fury, that could get messy!! (see the film Snatch for further info!!)
Price-Fury, considering the heated rivalry that's brewing between them, has no chance of going ahead peacefully. I like Jack's idea, but that seems too difficult to implement. I don't think the promoter's would fancy going through all of that hassle if they can avoid it.
I've been to a couple of the hatton fights at the M.E.N and citys ground and although I saw a lot of drugs knockin about it always seemed to be a decent atmosphere and rather it be a city/united thing when blue moon was sung everyone just behind ricky and had a good night. Even one of my utd mates joined in singin blue moon...i wont lie I disowned him shortly after
Disgraceful this, I could never sing You'll Never Walk Alone, when Pricey walks in I just wait for the ring of fire song to come on and start clapping a bit louder and that.
when i went groves degale people were getting thrown out left right and centre a group of indians wanted to start on me coz i was supporting groves and went "y dont u get in the ring with him innitttt"
So you're saying that not one Scouse footy hooligan would sing Munich songs? Of course they would, just like Manc hooligans would lay into you lot!
Loadsa Bin Dippers all under 1 roof is guaranteed trouble. They don't understand how to behave. Violence and anti-social behaviour is just inbred into them. They can't help it
Yeah, that's true. I think it all comes down to money. If Maloney/Hennessey have to spend more money in order to make the venue safe, I don't think they will. Same goes for the owners of the arena. If they're asked to not sell beer because it contributes to violence, I don't think they would. Profit is far more important to these people than the safety of the fans.
