Absolutely not. Mayweather is nowhere near as young nor as active as either guys. Floyd had 1 fight in 2.5 years before fighting Mosley, and is no spring chicken himself.

Berbick and Holmes were quite fresh still, and Ali was world's apart in age.

My basic understanding of American style odds tells me that Mosley was a very big underdog here. Mayweather was what's that, about 4.25 to 1 odds on? That's a massive favourite there.I wouldn't call that much of a threat personally.

 

Please name a fighter that wouldnt be a massive underdog vs Mayweather. Maybe Martinez if the fight was at 160.

Pacquiao is a 2-1 underdog right now. On fight night hed be 3-1 and maybe 4-1.

Anyway, if I have to counter that:

Mosley was 38 and 8 months v Mayweather (who was 33 at the time)

Mosley was 39 and 8 months v Pac (who was 32 at the time).


Ali was 38 and 9 months v Holmes (who was almost 31 at the time)
Ali was practically 40 vs Berbick (who was 27 at the time).


So, pretty similar agewise. Mayweathers inactivity is the ONLY difference here.

 

Mayweather did quite clearly.

It's really not that similar. 3-5 years difference in age in boxing really isn't close at all, especially when fighters get into their 30s, with Floyd at the lower weight and being inactive.
