Stories of Old Ex Fighters beating up thugs or young guys?

I'm pretty sure Rocky Balboa beat the **** out of a young and upcoming heavyweight named Tommy Morrison, despite being retired for several years.

 

I'd still favor him over many amateurs and still very young/green pros. For example, he'd likely do well against the guys Deontay Wilder has been fighting.

 

He and Chavez Sr are the only two people that I've ever had difficulty making eye contact with for fear of pissing them off somehow.

Aussie Rules isn't that hard to understand really. All you need to do is watch a couple of games (preferably with someone who can explain the rules and terms) and you'll pick it up in no time. The hardest thing that I can see is that there are no rules where players can and can't go which to someone who isn't used to it can give the impression that the players are just randomly running around smashing each other.

I love it more than cricket and boxing and that's saying something. I just think it's one of the fastest, toughest, most action packed games you can watch.

The International Rules hybrid is weighted heavily in favour of the Gaelic fellas and our edge in physical size and strength is all that we have in our favour because skills and tactically the Irish **** on us (except in the fights of course).

There's a few Irish lads playing AFL now and recruiters are now casting there nets over there more and more. Guys like Jimmy Stynes and Tadhg Kennelly adapted super quick from Gaelic to Aussie Rules and became champion players. The athleticism and innate touch they possess is remarkable and the money they can make over here will see more and more players making the trip to Australia IMO.

 

Heh. I remember reading in 4 Kings that during the riot after Hagler-Minter, some random guy who has no idea who Antuofermo was tried to start something and Antuofermo laid the dude out with one shot. Not bad for a guy who was called the Mosquito because of how he couldn't hit.

 

The guy broke a beer bottle over his head from behind. Without missing a beat, Vito turned and laid the dude out with a right cross and proceeded on.

 

Oh, to see the look on that guy's face just before Vito landed that punch...

 

If I were to break a beer bottle over a guy's head from behind with no warning and he turns around unphazed, I would likely run as fast as I could away and hope they don't give chase.

 

I think George's knees are all messed up. If you look at some recent video, you can see him limping and walking a little stiffly. I doubt his mobility is all that great. A guy would have to stand still in front of him.

 

I wasnt knockin the aussies rules or anything. Ive only watched the international rules a few times and its been hot and fkin heavy

Not understanding the rules of it is down purely to my ignorance and not of any bizarre list. All i know is that you have to be able to look after yourself when you get onto that pitch. I was just pointing this out to the other poster who jokingly remarked otherwise:good

I actually watched an AFL Grand Final overseas in Canada a few years back and had to explain what was going on to the Canadians. I was pointing out that if you catch the ball it's called a mark and you get a free kick, if you get caught with the ball it's a free kick to the opposition, if you tackle someone too high it's a free kick..etc etc. Well it confused the **** out of them and it made me realise that if you hadn't grown up with the game maybe it's as clear as mud to follow.

But it is worth the effort to learn the rules as it's a great sport as is Gaelic Football.:thumbsup
