Not true...Oscar was drained because PAC had to jump two weight divisions to meet Oscar at 147. Ward on the otherhand get credit because he stayed in his own division.
No one made DLH, or Dawson, do anything they weren't willing to do. They deserve the blame, not the opponent.
yeah, because skully would trash dawsons chances just before the fight, telling everyone how bad it is making 168 and how badly sparring was going. atsch because that's how it works? atsch does dawson get out of shape like most fighters when not in camp, or does he remain in pretty good nick?
Look at these resumes Dawson(dead at the weight, but still a world class fighter) Kessler(2x SMW champ) Froch(2x SMW Champ) Abraham(2 weight champ) Bika(solid gate keeper) Miranda(solid gate keeper) Pacquaio(I thought Bradley eeked it, but have no problem with anyone saying Pac won..8 weight champ. ATG. Future HoFer easily) Alexander(unified 140 lb champ.) Holt(WBO 140 chamo) Peterson(IBF 140 champ) Witter(WBC 140 champ. Bradley goes to his backyard and wins) Vasquez(IBF LW champ) Most people claim Bradley's a bum or B level fighter, when his resume is just as good if not better than Ward's.
I like your list, but I'd have no problem switching Martinez, Bradley, and Ward around in whatever order.
Think back, Dawson spent a few years claiming he could make 168 if a top guy would fight him there, so ya, he brought it on himself. He looked like a freaking zombie, but that's his own fault.
How does it change the outcome either way? You're claiming Ward knew he was drained, so how does Scully saying he is or isn't drained change things? The truth is Dawson made a decision with his team, if it bit him in the ass that is no ones fault but their own. Of course every trainer tries to spin a loss, wouldn't you agree?
Ward and Donaire are the two best fighters in the sport right now. Floyd didn't impress against Cotto and Pac didn't impress against Bradley and Marquez. Ortiz was nothing.
