Earliest colour photo of a boxer ?

    The earliest one I've come across is of Joe Louis,circa 1935/36.

    Anyone seen any that are even earlier ?

    yes....great one of battling nelson in 1911...it'll stun you brother...

    on Antiquities of the Prize Ring there are some old colour ones, you know the studio profile pic, with early colouring techniques

    looks like Antiquities of the Prize Ring is still down, the owner passed away, but it looks like the family have'nt kept it going yet(???).

    Preferably bona fide colour. I have a feeling that the Joe Louis one I mentioned in my opening post comes under that category.


    By all means do some early colourised ones too.

    Good pic,but the one I was referring to was taken around ten years earlier than this was ! Can't find it on the Net though.
