No it's not, certainly in comparison with the Karpency fight. But this obsession with taking a quick route to World level is holding fighters back as I said then and it will not be good for Tyson in the long run.

It's a different situation to the Skelton fight. Price hasn't said that he's done with domestic level now he's beat Harrison and he clearly is going to take his time building up his opposition. He won't be jumping in with the Klitschko's any time soon and he's acknowledged that. Fury however claims to be pursuing them fights; if he really is doing so, this type of opponent is ill advised IMO.

Having been told it might be a Chagaev or someone like that for a while, if it is Grano, it's a major let down. At least Price's fight is just a keep busy one, having only fought 6 weeks earlier.

I agree but money talks. That's why they do it and will continue to do so. I can't really complain if I was in their position I'd do the same thing.

TBF though it'd be a perfect route to a title (for Fury's team) if Klit does retire as in all likelihood he'd only have to beat an pretty average contender in Arreola to become the champion. Grano isn't great preparation for Arreola but Arreola is no vitali.

  4. The WBC must do their rankings with a tombola machine.

I think that we all know that at the end of the day eliminators mean very little any more

Well if he's thinking that way, that's fine if Vitali retires and he fights Arreola after Grano. But when he eventually fights a real world class contender, I'd guarantee he'd lose. Having an out of shape Chisora as by far and away your best win before fighting for a World title is no grounding at all.

In fact, I'm not even sure Fury would beat Arreola. I'd probably favour him but he's not shown anything to suggest he'd be a big favourite in that one.

    Who were people expecting?

The guy has a ranking, is available & affordable, easy win for Tyson then onwards & upwards.

Next year should get interesting, another win or 2 & Tyson will get a shot at the WBC title.

Well after the talk of the likes of Chagaev, certainly someone better than this guy.

Good luck to him, I won't be watching but many will. I'll watch the fight after which could be for the WBC title. Oh hang on, had a thought, what if the WBC make this for an interim title or better yet the Silver title!

    Wahoo!

Chag doesnt have a trainer & has promoter issues as well, he's said he'd like the fight next year but needs time to prepare. Most of the other contenders already have fights lined up or C5 cant afford them.

Its a **** fight but there is reasoning behind it, if Tyson looks impressive & carries on improving then its all good imo.

If Tyson doesnt fight a top quality opponent in the spring (Chambers, Adamek, Wilder etc) then I'll start to worry about his career stalling.

He'll fight someone slightly better but pretty sure it won't be any of those names.

Price did the exact same thing. This fight is atleast as good as Skelton. Skelton is a bum.

    What will be more interesting?
The fight itself or the complete bollocks interpretation of the fight afterwards by fat Mick.

    :huh

Price doesn't claim to be top 5 in the world. Price doesn't claim that Skelton is top 5 in the world. Skelton is, at least a former Euro/Brit champion and former World title challenger. Who the **** is Tony Grano other than a bogus/corrupt number 5?
