I wouldnt say this was domination by either fighter but I had it pretty tight before the stoppage. One thing for sure though...That was the best fight on the card and very exciting.
I don't argue if someone had Rios ahead and stoppage was very good in my opinion but really guys.. You think that Rios was landing the harder shots? In my first time Rios landed with a full power was 6th round and Alvaro was hurt immediately. Alvarado landed trough the fight HUGE right hands and uppercuts and I couldn't understand how Rios took them like nothing. Rios landed good shots too but they were not so eye catching for me. Difference was that when Rios landed his perfect punch (6th round) Alvarado was hurt as soon as it landed (and finished next round) but when Alvarado landed those same kind of punches trough the fight Rios took them like nothing. Rios is a monster and his chin is made of granite. Alvarado hit him everything he got (like Acosta did too) but how you can stop a guy who doesn't give a F when you land your money punch?
rios clearly won rounds 1,2,3,6 Rios wore him down from the opening bell. Every round that went by alvarado was losing confidence. He wasnt listening to his corner and he was throwing far to many punches for all the punches he was taking.
round 2 was the only close round and rios hurt him in the end so i gave that one to him. He clearly won 1 and 3 and hurt him bad in the end of round 6.
Thought Rios took the first 3 and one or two of the rounds after, but every round was competitive. Can't call that domination.
