The expand part below is quite appropriate.

Hennessey knows how to work within the wbc he got Witter and Froch into mandatory status just playing the game with Fury

This is a shrewd bit of match making by fat Mick.

If its ok for Hearn to manoeuvre Brook into the IBF mandatory slot, why not Mick Hennessey with Fury & the WBC?

It's a great sell to the casuals. Fury fighting the No5 ranked boxer with the WBC, it's an easy win that moves him up the rankings.

Maloney should be doing the same with Price.

I'm more pissed off at the disgraceful change in ranking for Grano. I won't watch the fight so can't really complain but the jump from 10 to 5 absolutely stinks.

Grano is still better than Skelton and Audley, squared.

    Yep :good

Hennessy is doing a fantastic job with Fury at only 24, he is sprinting his way to a WBC tite shot next year all whilst winning in front of 3 million people live on Channel 5 .

I have to say though, I don't actually understand Maloney's plan with Price ... what he has mapped out in his head for him??

What exactly did/does fighting Harrison or Skelton achieve?? 2 guys over 40 with no ranking, nothing left in the tank and likely to give Price 2 rounds of exposure on a channel watched by 20,000 people.

He is 30 next year and is not seeming to be moving any closer to significant fights.

Surely it can't be because Maloney is THAT worried about Price's chin? :think

  10. I don't think a few easyish British title defences in fairly quick succession is a bad thing at this stage of Price's career.

The next logical step would be a Euro title but I wouldn't be in any rush to get into the ring with Pulev. In fact, I'd steer well clear of Pulev.

It's funny that you don't hear either camp talking about the European title at the moment. Wonder why that is?

Absolutely nothing wrong with the Audley fight. It's one that Team Fury should have been chasing. It did 9,000 at the gate and got a lot of media. A quick turnaround against Skelton to win the belt outright isn't too bad either. In two fights Price will have fought a tall, southpaw counterpuncher and a tough inside fighter. He's fighting a good variety of fighters and winning the Lonsdale outright.

I don't forsee Price having a long layoff for quite sometime (unless he is beaten).

Good point - they've both gone quiet on that front since Pulev has beaten handily a couple of heavy hitters with excellent records and were the same size as Price & Fury.

Once both Price and Fury step up a level it is by no means the certainty people think that both (Price especially as many think it will be a given) will
    blast out the opposition.

Pulev, Helenius, Haye, Klitschkos, Povetkin etc. are all immense barriers to overcome. Helenius beat Price on every occasion I believe in the amateurs and hits just as hard as him.

Price will still need one more defence after Skeltom to win the Lonsdale outright.
