I just had a look at the page that got PP banned:

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=422194&page=3

Needless to say, it appears that Relentless posted worse racial jokes on the very same page :-(

Sometimes I wonder if there isn't a double standard on here.

I aint reading 132 pages, so if this has been brought up, forgive me.

How do we know Lewis didn't try for the rematch?
It took him (from memory), nearly 12 months to announce his retirement after the fight. Was there no negotiations going on in this time?
Maybe Vitali didn't want a rematch in private, but crowed after Lewis had retired?

I dont know, but 12 months is a long time to keep everyone waiting. Surely some negotiations were ongoing?

So the WBC ordered a rematch because the cuts were caused by a thumb and this is a fact, huh? Than it shouldn't be to difficult for you to provide a link confirming this, should it? We both know you won't provide ANY link about this phantom thumb though because you're lying. And why do you keep ducking the FACT Vittles ducked a Byrd rematch and your own hypocrisy about Lewis retiring? Is this how you win your debates, by avoiding questions?:yep

What you've said is simple, common sense. Some of us have it, others don't.

Lewis was 38 when he officially retired, he was 37 in the fight with Vitali.

Maybe if Tyson hadnt raped people, went to jail for 4 years, and then bit a mans ear and got himself suspended, then maybe the fight may have happened sooner(Also,Lewis was older than Tyson)

Why on earth should a guy whose legacy is set in stone,is undisputed champion, has just beaten the next best fighter in the division in 6 rounds, has 10s of millions in the bank, fight on until his early 40s?????

Literally everything you said in those 2 and a half line is incorrect.

Just remember, he's one of only three heavyweights to beat every man he ever faced.

yes because he ducked all the fighters, like byrd, bowe, sanders, prime tyson and he ducked the rematch with his master vitali.

Why do you think he should have been rushed into making a permanent decision, and why don't you hold Vittles to the same standard for not rematching Byrd and ducking Rahman?

It's embarrassing when your best win is a cuts victory that you were clearly losing on all the judges cards

because kohl feed byrd to wladimir, anyway vitali dominates byrd with one hand. the remtach was not so interesting

vitali retired for 4 years beacuse of his injuries

    why gaye never rematched thompson?
    why tyson never rematched douglas?

    Oh no.

Byrd? Really? Based on his record against big hard punching guys like Wlad and Ike I'd say Byrd should thank God Lewis didn't fight him. What's that Vitaly? Your arm is hurting?

Sanders. You realise Rahman BEAT Sanders, which is basically why Rahman got his shot at Lewis don't you? Or should Lewis have fought the winner AND loser of that fight?

Bowe. I seem to remember they had a mandatory fight scheduled at some point. What happened there?
And a few years later when (allegedly) Bowe's team offered Lewis a winner takes all prize fight, and the Lewis team accepted..what happened next?

Prime Tyson? Pre Douglas? According to most Tyson fans, he was past prime at about 22. Not even sure Lewis was a pro by then was he?
    Hang on.
    June 89 Lewis turns pro.
July 89 Tyson fights Williams. Then Douglas in Feb 90.

Yes. It's quite common for an amateur turning pro to fight for the undisputed heavyweight title in his first pro fight.

And he ducked the rematch with Vitali.
Vitali couldn't even get past round 6, unlike Bruno, Old Tyson, Mavrovic, Mercer etc.
Why didn't those guys get a rematch too?

In fact, why didn't Lewis keep fighting Vitaly until he actually won one.

Lmao, you're quite the joker!! There was no call for the Byrd fight so he instead fought his mandatory in Tyson and than beat up Vits. Bowed threw his title in the trash rather than face Lewis after agreeing already that the winners of Ruddock-Lewisand himself and Holyfield would fight one another. Prime Tyson paid Lewis step aside money to fight Holyfield and than lost. Sanders never beat a top 10 fighter except for Wlad. And finally, Lewis already beat Vittles bloody and had nothing left to prove to himself. Its not like he quit a fight and promised his fans he would get his title back only to remain active and avoid that fighter, is it?

You're welcome for the education. :good
