Not at the weigh in though Cloud ! I remember Butards were more numerous than Frochtard that day, even Carl was singing "Lucian Bute Lu-Ci-An" with them. :yep
Haha yeah I know, but even if there was many Bute fans, Lucian looked like he was coming back to Romania after a win, like "oooh hey tee-hee-hee hello everyone " .. lol
And you know what? I think that was the problem. If there hadn't been so many of his fans, maybe would he have felt the urge to be mean (mostly kidding, but I think you understand the point I'm trying to make). Like in the 1st round when the refree warned them cause it was already a bit of a dirty fight, Bute was like "it's ok we'll be good boys, right Carl?" and Froch was like "I'M A KILL YOU  " ..
Hahaha yeah man I got your point. Comme je l'ai déjà dit, je pense que Bute s'est fait prendre par surprise, il ne s'attendait à un Carl de ce niveau (comme beaucoup de monde d'ailleurs !), et il l'a payé du prix fort. Now he know what has to expect so maybe the rematch will be closer. :yep
One thing I'll say... There is a chance that Bute could've been weakened by weight control and the sleepless night before the fight. It's a possibility.
Bute was really drained, lacked prep the week of the fight and had that horrible leg infection during training. We will see a completely different Lucian in the rematch :smoke
Its difficult to look at their first fight and find anything to base hope for a different outcome. Bute cannot take punishment and thats the bottom line. Bute hasnt changed trainer or done anything different (AFAIK) that can restore any hope. I guess for Bute to win, Froch has to lose. Meaning that only if Froch underestimates Bute in a big way or gets injured early in the fight Bute might have a chance. But frankly I see no other outcome than yet another solid asswhooping.
What suggests that he wont be drained this time around? The point about the leginfection has some legitimacy, but that wasn't the cause of Bute's lack of punchresistance.
Good thing for Bute that the rematch will be at erm....168 again!! And being in Montreal will be about as detrimental to Froch as fighting in Newcastle. That is.....not a jot. I still don't think it'll be as decisive this time, although has Bute ever had a neutral ref at The Bell Centre?
