I couldn't have said it any better really. I'm not proclaiming Burns to be a pound for pound fighter, but he's a solid world champion and certainly holds better wins than anyone Rios has faced. I also think he has a perfect style to trouble Bam Bam, who looks like a wrecking machine against come forward guys but was schooled by the only world class 'boxer' he faced.

Burns did not face better opposition imo.
I hope Burns would call out Rios, he will get his butt whooped.

Frustrating night for Rios BUT he'd probably grind Burns down eventually.
Rios cant continue taking as much punishment as he does or he'll have a very short career.

    rios beats burns IMO
he will get to him eventually.
but rios is there to be taken unless he improves, which to me he is clearly capable of doing

Before Mitchell, who has Burns "punished"?

Dismal ko % to use that word with Burns.

He has hurt just about everybody hes faced at one point

There is a poster on this forum who fought Burns as a pro and called him "very heavy handed" (he was not stopped)

Burns has probably still got more KDs on the record than Rios, wouldn't surprise me

Prescott made Alvarado his ***** till he gassed, Rios got danced around by Abril, Don't be so arrogant as to dismiss Ricky Burns :lol:

One overhand right which knocked Burns down when he was off Balance, and twice down with body shots, got up to finish the fight. Martinez floored him with a quick one two in the first, but Burns got back up again and went on to win.

Burns has been down twice from headshots, that's it, never been close to stopped and he is a late bloomer

When he moved up to lightweight, oh my, the kid is possessed

Why such bitterness and resentment McGuinty? Poor thing.

You know fine well the majority of people expected Burns to lose to both Martinez and Katsidis

No one is "whooping" the Ricksters butt, that is for sure.

Anyone who beats him will be in a fight.

From what i have seen he is better than Rios overall and i'd favour him to win that fight at 135 or 140, would be a tough fight for both men either way.

I really don't think a brit named Ricky is beating anyone of significance, you guys.

It just isn't in the cards.

    Bam bam smashes him.

Burns is a good boxer but I think Rios would eventually catch him.

It would be a good fight though!

and if he catches him, what is he gonna do?

Burns has never been stopped, has won his last 20 fights since losing at the start of 2007 when he himself admits he should never have fought that night, the only other loss was against a prime Alex Arthur which came far too early for him.

I really look forward to Burns fighting someone like Rios and the like so people see how under estimated he is.
