Really so you're claiming a guy who was fighting the 11th fight of his entire life was prime?

The guy had ZERO amateur experience. 2 years previous to fighting Ottke,he was making his living playing rugby league.

OF COURSE he got better as he got more experience. People dont just suddenly become good at things they take up!

The fact that Ottke was allowed fight a guy in only his 11th fight ever for a world title fight is the really pathetic part.

No more of a joke than undefeated MW champ Jones Jnr fighting a 12-7-2 fighter, title on the line or not

    Your agenda has two parts:
    1. Defend and promote Joe Cal.
    2. Disparage any fighter near Joe Cal, especially any Americans or those considered superior to Joe Cal.

You fail to realize that bias causes you to make statements that aren't becoming of a guy as intelligent as you are. "Avoided him in the amateurs" is exactly the type of reach which lends to the Failey nickname.

Overall, though, you fail to realize that no matter how thorough your research and boxrec based platitudes, you will never be able to overcome the old fashioned eyeball test.

    Anybody who has seen this:

Or even a legitimate "highlight" reel like this:

Will never let your posts erase their memories. Somehow, you think nobody in the world ever saw this:

Show me one Jones fan who claims that Cherino is a noteworthy win for Jones.

And it wasnt for a title. It was just a stay busy fight

You were actually boasting about Ottke knocking out Mundine!

No Jones fan ever boast about beating Cherino!

how do you avoid someone as an amateur? it's a tourney format. jones should have won the gold in the olympics. you have to fight who's in front of you. unlike the pros where you can pick and choose who you fight. stupid comment.

Jones takes this any day of the week.
In America i lean towards a UD. Ottke had a good defense and was exceptional at fighting "negative" fights with next to zero action and it was not like Jones was know for pressing hard for the KO when he had a fight bagged. ( We off course don“t know how Ottke would react to fighting in hostile territory, but with his amateur experience it is unlikely that i would have made a huge difference, even though it surely matters)

The biggest chance of a Jones win by KO would be in Germany, with at rally creative referee like in the Ried fight, where Jones realizes he need a KO in order not be robbed.

Ottke lost to Mads Larsen :patsch.. Jones would clown and school Ottke to the point where we may have to call it the "greatest schooling of all time"

Watched all of Ottke's fights live on TV.
He was an excellent technician who was very hard to catch with powershots because of his foot positioning and speed.
    Had a very good career.
But anybody favoring him over RJJ must be a hater.
Fights against Starie + Larsen + Brewer + Mitchell were dead even.
    clearly lost against Reid.
As far as his punching power.
Joey Gatti suffered a brainbleed after getting knocked out by Sven and accused him of loaded gloves.
    Mundine was knocked out cold.
45 minutes after Anthony was decimated
Sven gave a 20 min interview on a podium 30 meters of the ring
    he never removed his gloves
    even while holding the mic
