    The facts that:
-he lost his last fight on a stupid corner retirement
-he went straight to retirement instead of looking for a deserved rematch
-Hatton`s career hasnt been very brilliant
-his other defeat was caused by a fringe contender, who didnt go on to better things
-he never fought someone like De La Hoya or Whitaker
Really hurt his chances as a p4p ATG. He's undeniably a top 10 at 140, but not a top 5.

If were talking career then probably not. But he has the ability to be a major threat to any atg around his weight.

He is one of the best 3 Jr welters of all time, anyone who says no is an idiot!
He unified the title which hadn't been done for 30 years, 50% of all his fights were against world champions, what do people want from this guy?
Both DLH and Mosley chose not to fight him and they easliy could have, he loses to Hatton when he is 36 yrs old and this ruins his legacy? Bollocks it does, KT is an ATG and people should get their heads out of their own ass and recognise it. Are Mosley, Trinidad and Norris ATG's? age got the better of them too but they are all ATG's! Kostya Tszyu is a ATG!

They had good resumes, much better than Kostya, who's resume is full of second tier fighters. Age had nothing to do with losing to a B level fighter in his prime in Phillips.

I tend to agree with that, Tszyu was unstoppable during his prime in that division.

On paper his opponents probably don't stand out like some others but his destructive style made a mockery of some pretty good fighters.

I think DLH moved up in weight just before Tszyu hit the big time otherwise this could have been a career defining victory to Tszyu IMO, and as a result his status would have been even more elevated.

    Tszyu isn't ??

Yeah right ... I bet some of you shits saying that - think Pacquiao is an all-time great.

I don't get how someone with the accomplishments of Tszyu cannot be considered an all-time great.

GTF out of here with that bull**** ... He only lost 2wice ... he was undisputed champ for christ sake.

He won a belt in under 20 fights ... He was a 4-time champion for crying out loud.

People can give respect to Hamed and Pacquiao why not Tszyu?

This guy could box and could knock you out... He beat the people who were willing to fight him. DLH walked away from a bout ... Shane Mosley skipped the division all together.

Pacquiao's resume is FAR better, they are not even comparable in that department. Tszyu was dominant in a shallow division, was KO'd in his prime by a B level fighter, and never beat a great.

Hamed is on the same level as Tszyu. Pacquiao is a level above both.

Mosley skipped to fight DLH, who was already fighting at 147. I doubt DLH was scared to face Tszyu but not Hopkins, Trinidad, Mosley, etc.

Tszyu was very good, but not great. You could make a better case arguing he ranks higher in head to head terms than in terms of resume/accomplishments, though he was a limited fighter in head to head terms as well.

Son, you act like the ****ing superfeather weight division is stocked with talent. With the recent departure of Morales and Barrera there's no old men for Pacquiao to beat up on.

name 5 active fighters of any significance in that division?
    *not including Pacquiao or Marquez

I want to just walk up on a Pacquiao fan and slap fire out of their mouths.

Why would I not include Pacquiao or Marquez, considering they are very relevant to the conversation?

That's like saying "Name Kostya's top wins, other than the top guys he beat."

Pacquiao's wins over Barrera(who was not at all past it in the first fight) and Morales are better than any win Kostya has.

Hamed on the same level as Tszyu?? :patschNow the whole thread has turned into a farce! People say ridiculous things when they no longer have a rational argument. DLH was not going to risk those fights you mentioned by fighting Tszyu and possibly losing bigtime, i don't blame him for that and Mosley certainly did well by skipping 140lb altogether, it's interesting that at the time of Tszyu's unifacation a lot of boxing fans thought the 140lb division was the best division in World Boxing!

What irrational argument did I present? What about Tszyu's resume is better than Hamed's? What about Tszyu's reign was more dominant than Hamed's? It's not like they could fight each other, so comparing skills is useless, we're comparing achievements.

Yeah, DLH was not going to risk facing Tszyu, so instead he went with easy prey like Trinidad, Mosley, Whitaker, Hopkins, Quartey, etc.

What in the division at the time makes you come to the conclusion that it was the best division? That actually seems like a pretty irrational argument to me. Who on Tszyu's resume suggests it was a stronger division than a division with guys like most of the ones I mentioned above?

you must get a kick out of the **** you write ...

man you guys make being a fan of someone -- really meaningless.

What are you going to say when Pacquiao loses Saturday?

The reason why you haven't named anyone is because you don't know anyone outside of those 2.

The real resumes' go to Barrera and Morales ... Pacquiao got his fame from beating those two guys.

Name 3 other fighters that Pacquiao beat that have done something significant in the sport.
