Carl Froch. Good fighter or VERY Good fighter? How will you describe him

I think he's a great fighter. He isn't a stylistically great fighter but he has immense heart, a solid chin and comes to fight, and in all but two occasions has won. What more if not those attributes make a great fighter?

You obviously missed my thread last weekend where I asked if Carl was great.

Ok fighter . . . probably the most overrated fighter right now

 

Great fighter his will and fighting spirit make him great.

 

Good skills, physical attributes + great chin, heart, determination, will = very good all around fighter.

 

Great fighter,one of the rarer fighters i love taht come from the UK.

 

Great fighter, falls short of truly elite but great nonetheless. A genuine throwback.

Is he great on a skills and ability level?

No. He's good but not great.

Is he great in terms of his attitude (go anywhere, fight anyone, duck nobody)?

Hell ****ing yes. By that metric, he's one of the greatest in the game at the moment.

There are quite a few boxers who are better than Carl technically, but they're so much worse than him on the other side of the equation that I rate them lower. A boxer is a combination of these things; you can't get away with being a game-playing, cherry-picking ***** just because you've got top-2% skills.

 

Great fighter. Great chin and will to win, and insists on fighting the best. Coming second to someone with Wards skills is no disgrace. He's also shown he can bring different styles to the table (when he listens to McCracken). A shame he's getting on a bit, we may only have 3-4 more fights out of him.

He will be missed when he's gone.

 

Given his style, he's very good at what he does. His style has only failed him a couple times. His res is damn good.

In terms of skill, he ain't good. But that don't matter cuz he still wins.
