I think its because with kostya, at the time he was beating his opponents they were great wins. No one really paid much atention to Wright, even when he was beating Shane a a few weight classes above his prime.
Sweet Pea while you're at it ... name 3 people that Hamed beat that did something in the sport. And explain to me why he retired after the fight w/ Barrera? (no that farewell fight was garbage) Why didn't he fight Morales and where was Pacquiao when all this **** was going on? Oh I forgot ... you never heard of him ... he wasn't on US TV then.
I am not a fan of anyone mentioned on this thread. If anything, I'm a Pacquiao hater due to his ridiculous fans, as has been pointed out a lot, but he's surely better than Tszyu, who's even more overrated. Why not, instead of trying to convince yourself that I'm wrong with no reasoning, you try to come up with a feasible argument? I pick Marquez to beat Pacquiao for your information. If he does win, however, he'll hold wins over 3 fighters(not just two) better than any single fighter Tszyu beat at the time of fighting them. He'll also hold wins over the best fighters of his era in his weight class. As it is, he holds wins over two, with a draw over one. As well as second tier wins like Larios, Solis, and guys at lower weights like Ledwaba and a very underrated win in Sasakul.
Go to sleep, your hate for a guy you dont even know is quite disturbing. Flyweight champ all the way to SFW. Gunning for his 4th division title. Wins over Sasakul, Ledwaba(at the time just borderline top 10 p4p), Larios(long time rival), MAB*2, Morales*2 & draw with JMM. Name me another current active fighter with a better resume other than Floyd & Hopkins?
It would be more interesting to see somebody argue that he's not. Obviously has all-time-great skill and the guy dominated his division for a long time.
Solis sucks, Larios sucks, and whoever else you named sucks as well ... never heard of them. I'm sure if they were of any significance they would be on his notable fights resume. But they aren't ... I can't argue your opinion -- because its yours but I do disagree. Peace
I dont think he ever lived up to his real potential. He didnt get all the big fights he could have. He also missed out a lot of time due to injuries. Hes one of the best amatures ever but his pro career isnt as good as it could have been given his talent
Pacquiao was fighting at lower weights while most of this was going on actually, so he wasn't in the picture. He got his first big break against Barrera. Hamed beat Kevin Kelley, Wayne McCullough, Wilfredo Vazquez, and some other good fighters, but you only asked for 3. While you're at it, trying to get me to come up with the top wins for these fighters, why not do the same thing for Tszyu? What were his great wins? Judah, Mitchell, and a completely shot Chavez don't really put him on an elite level. And if you're gonna bring up Hamed's loss and retirement after Barrera, why not do the same with Tszyu and his loss to Hatton? Sounds a bit like a double standard to me. And I'm the ridiculous fan?
aye man ... chill i'm not mad at him, more than his fans ... I think he's entertaining but seriously overrated.
OK, do you realize how foolish you look after that? Do you realize that with statements like that, you not only expose your lack of knowledge, but your ignorance? You tried to criticize me, and then come back with something like this and run away when I completely disprove you?
At the time Judah was unbeaten and Mitchell had not lost for seven years, Tszyu had beaten Gonzalez who had lost only to DLH and drew with Chavez. Comparing Hamed to Tszyu is ridiculous in that the first real test Hamed had as a fighter he failed miserably! Hamed never unified anything! Hamed was exciting and generated much interest at the time but was found out badly as a fighter by Barrera and he knew he could not win a rematch or beat Morales either. The only time DLH could have fought Tszyu was 1996 when both were at 140lb well before those fights were made and i know Tszyu's camp were pleading for a fight with DLH. It was safety first at that time for DLH and of course he went onto build one of the best resumes of any fighter i have seen. I ask you outside of Pryor and Chavez who was a better Jr Welter?
Yeah you're right man ... I shouldn't have took it there and there's no excuse. I just get tired of people licking PacMans balls ...
