    Firstly I am British.

The British fight commentary is so full of hyperbole and exaggeration that it is almost unwatchable.

I was watching the David Price/Audley Harrison fight and the hyperbole was unbeliveable.

What got me is that the commentators were saying what a warrior Audley Harrison was and they kept repeating how he "went out on his shield"

You have got to be ****ing kidding me... seriously.

No you should hear Dutch commentators, you'll die laughing at the crap they're spouting sometimes.
I usually have British commentary and it's not even half as bad (although it usually is crappy), and yes I have seen Price vs Harrison too :yep

Yep pretty terrible, I'll always watch the American feed of a big fight. I love Jim Watt though, could listen to him say 'punchies' all day long

It wasn't the commentators, it was Steve 'Joe Frazier is brown bread' Bunce.

    Not Jim Watt.

He's got that great "bang on the chin!" catchphrase. Legend.

    It was said.

It was said before the fight and after.

How could they have said he went out on his shield before the fight?

Anyway British commentary isn't too bad, usually quite fair tbh. I remember watching the Pacquiao Marquez fight on HBO, I thought I was going crazy, I was watching something completely different to what they were saying. Then I watched it on primetime and they saw it the same way all of us did.

Jim Watt is awful. Will be all over a fighter saying he's totally in control and how good he looks, then if situation changes, he'll claim he knew it was gonna happen and he's being looking suspect all fight. Find myself putting the mute button on when he's commentating.

Firstly, I am an American and NO, the British are better than the Americans, who should all go to retirement villages.

Just added the American part because it seems that is the ESB pattern...... more credibility if you root against your own nationality. Example "I am Welsh and Andre Ward resume is greater than Calzaghe" which is of course, a total bollock.

Larry Merchant really? Larry is getting senile I'll give you that, but I haven't found him to be full of hyperbole. Now if you were to say Jim Lampley or even Max Kellerman, when he's trying to be agreeable with the rest of the crew, I could totally see that.

Never thought I'd see the day where I actually agreed with you about something.
