The 80s was full of roids, look how many world records set then are still standing.

I agree that keeping samples for future testing is a great idea, the testers are always a step or 2 behind the cheats. Even now, the tests for HGH & EPO arent especially effective & those drugs are old news. Gene doping is already happening & that seems to be impossible to detect.

When the difference in rewards/paydays between contenders & champions is so vast & when the testing is so easy to beat there will always be cheating.

The only reason people really defend him was because his opponent was also dirty and tested twice as much ..so for all you drama queens that blow that horn that right there is proof that all that **** don't make u a better boxer !

All these fighters know exactly what they take, seriously, how gullable can you be? The only difference is that Larry had the balls to admit what he is. Every user already has a list of bull**** excuses lined for if they they get caught, anyone who thinks otherwise has their heads buried firmly in the sand.

Of course the figure for American athletes now are still high for steroids. The Americans just can't stop using them. It has something to do with glass hearts stopping them from being able to compete on an even playing field so they have to use steroids to gain an unfair advantage.

    Examples include:

    James Toney
    Roy Jones Jr
    Shame Mosley
    Fernando Vargas
    Tommy Morrison
    Vitali Klitschko
    Frans Botha
    Richard Hall
    Orlando Salido
    Shannon Briggs
    Michel Trabant
    Joey Gilbers
    Lamont Peterson,
    Andre Berto,
    Antonio Tarver

Wow, exactly the type of fanboy steroid apologist i was talking about. You're not a fan of the sport you are a blinded fanboy that accepts cheats in a sport where people risk their life everytime they participate :-(

They clearly dont, most of them dont have a clue what chemicals & ingredients their supplements contain.

Ultimately, they have a responsibilty for what goes into their bodies but there are varying degrees of guilt. Some are undoubtedly worse than others & should be treated accordingly.

So because Richard Hall used steroids that makes it okay for RJJ to? I fail to see your logic. It just shows the wrong attitude some fans have that steroid use can be justified. It can't be justified ever in a competitive environment

Both he and his opponent tested for the same thing and never tested positive again . So what am I supposed to label him a cheat for the rest of his career ?

Don't watch then if it disgusts you that much ,the sad reality is this is the norm in all sports . Blame science and the short cuts .Every fighter in the last 20 yrs has probably taken something .Until there are dramatic changes ,get use too it .

And if you notice the ones that are on the stuff are the ones that end up losing !

Yeah but everyone noticed a drop in RJJ's performance after being caught on roids. Never again did we truly see superman in the ring. Why he was given his supersteroids

No it's not ok but what's the issue when it was both men that were dirty ? If he tested positive again than he can be labeled dirty but since then he's been clean ..But the drama queens love to bang that drum, it should never be ok but the reality is most if not all boxers in the last several yrs have been on something . They don't call boxing the red light district of sports for nothing .

Furthermore if you're caught on steroids once you have to be stupid to use them again so of course he stopped using them. But even using them to begin with is immoral and unethical. Yes many boxers use certain chemicals and drugs. No most boxers don't use banned substances, it just seems to be most boxers from the American continent - i.e. USA, Mexico etc. on banned substances.

Don't try and tar all nationalities of boxers with the same brush.
Don't try and justify steroid use, just because RJJ used steroids and so did Richard Hall doesn't make it all right

From what I can see you don't seem to approve steroid use but you seem to accept it. that is the wrong attitude and you need to change it

Let's not pretend his victory over a slow feather fisted plodder at HW and then running away form Lewis and Tyson was greatness. he also went on to get sparked twice in two fights, one by a jounreyman featherfisted plodder named Glen Johnson
