because, just like his german uncle Ottke, he is a glass jaw stay at home disgrace. But even Ottke didn't went this far, to be part of a world wide tournament where everyone has to travell but him. and Ottke never had to drain an opponent to beat him in his backyard. Ottke>Warddke at this point.

Because the Super Six demonstrated how much of an advantage it is to fight in your home country. Of course Ward is an excellent fighter but he needs to prove himself by fighting elite fighters away from the USA

Ward made considerably less money by dragging Kessler who was champ out of his home... for what ?

The reason why many ppl including myself is bashing ward for fighting at home is because in the super six he was the only fighter that didnt travel while other fighters like frock fight on the road to other countries.

it would be the next step in ascertaining his status, I reckon. Many greats have world tours.

So many remain merely HOF for sticking within reach of their local fanbase (Ottke in Germany, Calzaghe in GB being the best two recent examples).

Everyone that gives him **** about the Super Six seems to forget, Kessler and Abraham were the odds on favorites to win the tournament. Ward was not thought of as The Man as he is now, he was still a prospect. You cannot use hindsight after the fact, with Kessler and Abraham being the favorites there was no reason they couldn't travel to the underdog's home and still win if they were better.

Ward should travel but let's not act like fighting abroad is that much safer .I mean look at Hatton and Froch ,from the fights I watched of them In the UK seems rabid punching and wrestling is allowed yet people think That in the US that certain things are overlooked .Its just as bad over there .

Ward beat all those European dudes in the tournament. The fans of those

dudes are just sad clouds dropping tears trying to rain on the SOG parade.

just ignore the critics for now, right now the kid is putting together a nice resume.

More people went to the domestic HW fight at the weekend than Ward-Dawson. Ward sells **** all.

Ward-Froch in the UK would outsell a rematch in the US by far.

Hopkins was guilty of all of the above on numerous occasions, and I don't remember anyone clamoring he had to leave the country to be considered one of the best. Same with Mayweather, who fights in Vegas almost exclusively now, I don't see anyone that says Manny or Sergio need to go fight in Europe or risk their legacies. The whole argument is for fans that need something to complain about so they cling to this. It's silly, I loved Ricky Hatton and didn't mind one bit when he fought in Manchester it was always fun to watch and he did big business there. I certainly didn't believe it was necessary for him to come fight in the US to prove something. Same with Calzaghe, no problems whatsoever he defended his belt almost 20 times in the UK, it was great business and that's where his fanbase was at. It's a stupid argument.

He deserves to make some executive decisions after the work he's put in over the last couple of years. He's proven to be the man at 168 so anyone who wants to get at him will have to agree to Ward's terms....I'm sure he'll be reasonable. He's the champion but knows his value. Fighting the champ in his own backyard isn't anything new. But I agree...sometimes the pressure of fighting at home can be overwhelming....Not that I have any idea how that can be on the scale of Andre Ward....but I've felt the pressures in football games and boxing matches in my area.
