I'm not a Ward fan, and never have been. However, I have to applaud this post. The under lying principles are spot-on:clap:

When the S-6 started there was a lot of talk on here about Showtime taking over the top spot from HBO.

There was also a more or less consensus agreement that Pavlik was more deserving than some of the fighters in the tourney. At the time, he had accomplished a lot more than Ward, Dirrell, and Abraham, and everyone knew his days at 160 were numbered due to weight issues. Pavlik seemed annoyed by the lack of an invite, and made some noise about the combatants "killing each other for peanuts."

Me and Hermit told you: "The winner of the S-6 will fight either Kelly Pavlik or Lucian Bute ON HBO.

Hermit and me are prophets! You ****ers need to learn that!:deal

You nailed it with this post. Kelly won't win, and the HBO team will annoy the **** out of me trying to tell me what I should be seeing in the fight.

I already told them what Abraham is gonna do with his shiny new belt. Of course that doesn't take a prophet. Just a little look at history. :yep

Not yet Boo. Get the fight 1st.

Anyway, I think it would be a stupendous upset should Pavlik take Ward out.

If it were to happen, in the pantheon of upsets, I'd sandwich it between Mosley-Margarito and Hasim Rahman-Lennox Lewis.

And everyone else is recently signed. They would both have to wait quite a while to face a quality opponent. Froch/Bute? 9/12 months? Abraham? Never. Dirrell just signed so that is 6/9 months minimum. Kessler just signed so same for him.

It would be a huge shocker but it won't happen. Pavlick is a plodder, not enough movement to beat Ward.

HUGE! It's crazy how hard Pavlik has fallen in the past few years. Since I have been watching boxing (2006) I don't think there is a single fighter I have seen become a champion, that has taken a more turn for the worse in his career than Pavlik.

Pretty big, because there is absolutely no reason to doubt that Ward simply toys with him.
