Anyone who votes no is a fool, and one must think they have an agenda of some kind...

PED's allow one to train at an unnatural level. Training, along with having your best physical body, certainly improves hand speed and power, along with breathing and more.

I was expecting a couple "NO" votes from people in utter denial, those whose opinions I couldn't care for in the first place. But really? PED's have been used widely across pro sports since the mid to late '60's. You don't think they massively assist those who partake?

Like my earlier post says though, it is down to the individual. PED's on their own will not improve hand speed, power, etc. They have to be worked on like every skill. You don't just take PED's and instantly become faster and hit harder. This is were the training and individual comes in to play. The PED's allow a dedicated, motivated person to train for longer at a higher intensity, but their is a skill limit for everyone, PED's or not.

The answer is yes and no. The no would be for individuals who don't actually put the work in because they feel taking the PED's makes them instantly better. Along with individuals who have no one teaching them new skills, and also those that reach their maximum skill level, whether they reach a high level or not.

Yes they can, not directly as in suddenly you have skills you didn't have but they surely allow you to improve quicker/better than normal and also must give one more confidence and motivation

Well then shouldn't what Vargas took against Delahoya enhance his performance ?Please explain then why his performance suffered since he was on a performance enhancer ? I mean he should have been able to train longer than Oscar have more explosiveness etc :think

P.E.D.s can't all of a sudden give you skills if you never had them. They can increase your stamina, and improve your fast twitch muscles though, which may give you a boost in handspeed, which could translate into more pop on your punches, depending on what type of punching technique you already have.

    "yes... probably"

What the **** is with these people?

Jesus, you'd think that all of ESB didn't know what a PED was or that they could exist in any form until Mayweather started talking about it and requiring testing.

That's the next step of threads:

"MAYWEATHERS BEGIN SPREAD OF PEDS IN BOXING FROM 2010 INSISTANCE OF DRUG TESTING. PEDS, ON THAT DAY, WERE INVENTED THEN DISCOVERED THEN PLACED IN ALL OF THE COWS IN MEXICO TO FRAME MEXICAN FIGHTERS AND FOOTBALL PLAYERS."

People that think that PED won't improve your fighting abilities have never done any type of sport. When you are tired in any sport you start to make mistakes easily. Mistakes in boxing translates in taking punches and getting KOed. Also PEDs give you the extra energy to trow more punches and outwork your opponent. In closely contested fights it can make a huge difference. If a fighter is totally out matched of course it will not help him. I can not win the tour de France with all the EPO in the world but an already great cyclist like Armstrong got unbeatable after taking it.

You will never know how Vargas was going to look in that fight with PEDs so stop speculating. For all we know he was pushing Oscar arround in the first half of the fight. What is document it is that certain PEDs will increase you aerobic abilities other will give you strength. They won't make you more skillful perse but you will be more skillful in the later rounds in a fight if your stamina is great. A tired fighter will always get a bit sloppy and is easier to KO.

    Settle down dude...

There is no proof that CERTAIN PEDs help you in boxing let alone physically at all... As a matter of fact, they have just as much DAMAGE possibly... Which is why I said "probably"

    Don't be a dick.

you think that performance enhancing drugs are not helping you physically??? There is a ton of proof that they do that's why athleats take them. For instance EPO will instantly improve your stamina. I mean take EPO and you will improve you run at 400 m with 10 seconds instantly.
