True but Gomez would've clattered him at some point with his style anyway IMO. Lesser fighters did (Besande) and from what we know I'dputt Gomez a bit higher than Crawford, who was no doubt a solid fighter who mixed at the highest level loads of times, but he pushed Saijo very hard so I'd take Gomez to do just that bit more at his very best. Even taking into account that Saijo's wars and 15 rounders have taken something from him, Gomez looks good enough that I can see he was top class.

Anyone would have to pick their shots to finish Saijo. Gomez did that well.

    Antonio Gomez - Shozo Saijo.

    Very good fight.

Shozo sporting a stylish haircut had "Japanese Casanova" written all over him

Round 3 was Round of the Year material - great action.
As always, as soon as Shozo got hurt he became even more dangerous.

A.Gomez looked very good - smooth technician, good upper body movement, nice crusp punches.
Damn, that party lifestyle has really taken it's toll on A.Gomez - he looked 10 years older against Marcel.

An excellent right hand by Antonio over Saijo's lazy jab in the 5th round.

Beating (undefeated!) Dejesus is one thing but how did A.Gomez manage to beat Cervantes who towered over his opponents even at light welterweight?:yikes

By the way I can easily envision A.Gomez giving counter-punching Marquez hell.

Yeah it's fun with a quality performance from Gomez.

Interesting to hear how his fight with green Kid Pambele went down I agree :think

    Khaosai Galaxy vs Israel Contreras

Contreras "used his skills" in this fight , like he did initially vs Vazquez and did not come "all-out" in d beginning . He won d 1st 2 rds and i think that it was even later when he hurt Khaosai .

Contreras looked significantly bigger but IDK if he was drained @ d weight or not .

In d end Khaosai really badly hurt him and it was a KO really even if Contreras was not laid "out cold" .

    Khaokor Galaxy vs Wilfredo Vazquez
There may b a case 4 Khaokor winning it 2:1 or 2-1-9 , but a draw or a SD as it would not have been a bad decision
Vazquez was quite "flat footed" in this fight , more than his usual self , there was maybe 1 occasion when he was on his bike and maybe 1/2 moments when he chased .

I just noticed yesteryesterday that these 2 were available

did not find d full Khaokor vs Sung-Kil #2

    HE ****ING DOMINATED VASQUEZ!!!!

    Give up watching boxing, turd.

And Khaokor-Moon II is on youtube, though you'll probably see it as a draw.

Something tells me this is not one of your favourite fights.

Maybe cuz deep down inside you know that overrated Marcel barely escaped with a bogus decision over past-prime A.Gomez.

And that prime Antonio "Cervantes' father" Gomez would have stopped Marcel even faster than your boy Saijo:yep

Brutal beating the kid took in that fight.

Jesus some guys he faced just genuinely hated his guts, RIP.
