Thanks to Straight Shoota for showing us this in another thread. :good

ANTHONY, do we find you sitting now in the Last Chance Saloon ... finally seeking a rematch with Daniel Geale because there is simply nowhere else to go? Nah, nah, nah ... no way. I've always said I want the biggest fights, the biggest opponents and that's exactly what this is. I've got opponents lined up in the States, but a unification bout ... winning this fight just fast tracks my American dream.
You had this same opportunity with Geale three years ago. After taking his IBO title in contentious circumstances officials ordered you fight again. Instead, you vacated the title.
Not me, my team. My manager Khoder Nasser, my dad ... they took me in another direction. And, look, there's a lot I would've done differently. I wanted to go to America straight after beating Danny Green, too, but certain things, I haven't had control.

So you're saying Anthony Mundine hasn't had control of his destiny?
I've had control, but maybe I was being manipulated into thinking otherwise.
Is that why you and Khoder Nasser split?
Look, I'm not going to bad mouth anyone. It's happened. I'm now in control ... well, God controls me ... but what's happened in the past stays there.
Mundine versus the nation: The Man labels Australia a racist nation
So this is Anthony Mundine taking control of his career?
There you go. It's taken some time. Everything happens for a reason. And now, it's my time. I'm 37, but you look at so many of the world's great fighters, they're older guys. Bernard Hopkins, Sergio Martinez, Floyd Mayweather ...
Just on Floyd, do you believe the world's greatest fighter has any interest in an Aussie whose US debut drew 286 paying customers?
Nah, course not.
He doesn't even know who you are, right?
Oh, he knows who I am, trust me. When I sparred at his gym before my last fight, the whole Mayweather crew put **** on me. I talked **** right back, too. And when I beat Geale, he'll take notice.
But you have to beat Geale first.
One hundred per cent. But I've watched his last two fights and he's still doing the exact same **** as when I beat him three years ago.
In April, you dodged WBA junior middleweight champion Austin Trout, describing the American as "laughable".
Trout was after my money.
But in December, he fights Miguel Cotto at Madison Square Garden in New York. That is hardly laughable.
Cotto makes that pick, not Trout. I offered to fight Cotto, he didn't take it because I'm not a name, but I'm a threat. Anyway, what's bigger, fighting Cotto or Geale for his two middleweight belts?
Internationally, I say Cotto.
Yeah, but he has no belt. And when I do become unified champion, you watch the offers come in. Geale has two belts, but he hasn't captured any attention because he's boring. The guy has no personality, no charisma, no flash. You can't sell him. But if I have two belts ...
Right now though, Geale only has his IBF belt on the table.
And that's a concern because his promoter Gary Shaw is incredibly influential with the IBF. I feel like I'll have to knock Geale out to get a draw.
You signed the contract.
But if you're the unified champ, fight like that. They talk about having a deal with (WBA mandatory) Gennady Golovkin. I'll honour that, too, and fight Golovkin next.
Say you beat Geale, would you like to fight a Golovkin or Martinez with all Australians in your corner?
(Long pause) Probably not.
Why?
I need people to hate me ... critics, they bring out the best in me. I know I'm perceived to be this cocky, brash, loudmouth ...
But you are a cocky, brash loudmouth.
Yeah. Nah. (Laughs) Well, at times I am. When it's lights, camera, action. Away from that, though, I'm different.
Ever think about those 100,000 fans who greeted Lionel Rose after he became our first indigenous world champion?
(Smiles) Oh, I'd like that. If I beat Geale, go overseas and become undisputed champion, I will have something like that. I have critics, but I have a lotta love.
You have a fair league record, which you remind us of occasionally. You must have been filthy when Joey Johns pipped you as an Immortal?
(Laughs) If I'd stayed in the game I would've carved up. Bad.
An Immortal?
Possibly, yeah. You ask Brad Fittler or Laurie Daley, they never got over me once. Never.
Wish you passed the ball in that '99 grand final?
Nah.
Really?
I should've scored.
All the goodwill you earned breathing life back into Australian boxing, how much has been lost by fighting guys like Darmel Castillo, Rico Chong Nee, Xavier Toliver?
I've fallen into spells where I've fought lesser opponents and, yeah, it went on too long. But I also beat Geale, Danny Green, Sam Soliman. I took on an undefeated Mikkel Kessler. I fought Sven Ottke when he'd had 12 consecutive (world title) defences and I'd had 10 fights.
That was a ballsy choice.
And my management, they didn't want that fight. I pushed for it. And now I'm taking this fight with Geale to change what has happened in the past. This fight ... it resurrects me.

Laughed so hard when he says if he beats Geale, he would honour his mandatory and face Golovkin if the WBA title is at stake  He would drop that belt and run a mile.

If his management screwed him for all these years I feel for him, that would be pretty farked, if true no one would sign on with that leech khoder, wich would also be good, time will tell I suppose, these things are a big if too
