I suspected he was faking it, BUT and its a big BUT if he faked it no way he would not be fighting, even if he fought lesser opposition he would make some money but he isnt fighting at all, if he was healthy he sure would fight at least somebody to make some money.
Actually at this point it's not even about the punch but there are SO MANY elements against Dirrell that for me it's hard to believe he wasn't faking or at least badly exagerating his reaction. Also, I've said it many times here, Dirrell is one of the most talented fighter P4P, no doubt about that. And losing to dirrell is no shame, AA got his ass handed to him by a FAR better boxer. :yep
Abraham could not have known Dirrell was down, it all happened too fast... The question all you nut-huggers fail to ask is: why the hell does Andre Dirrell "slip" every five minutes in EVERY GODDAMN FIGHT he's in? The answer is simple: that's his defense. When a power shot is about to hit him and it's too late to dodge it, he takes a knee. The ref should deduct points and disqualify him after a few times he does it. Dirrell is a *****.
He slipped on water in Abraham's corner. Everyone knows that. Why don't you? It is literally Abraham's JOB to know when the other fighter is down. He hesitated before throwing that punch. It was not "too fast". It was cold, calculated and deliberate. Give me the times he slipped down in the Abraham fight? Go ahead. I'll wait for you to post the times so we can all verify them.
I think a lot of it is bad luck and promoter problems....and just being dumb sometimes. But then again, some of it could be that he does have legit problems. Some of what I remember about Dirrell's timeline over the last few years, and I might be mistaken on some of this as I don't follow the Dirrell's careers all that closely. At some point he was supposed to fight a tuneup against Sebastian Demers, but then Demers ran into his problems.-Bad luck At some point this year he split with Gary Shaw and Al Haymon and tried to promote himself- dumb move He signed with TMT which promptly folded within a month. - Dumb move/Bad luck He was being looked at for a fight with Lucian Bute, but it probably would have never have happened as his delusional uncle insisted the fight had to take place in Michigan where Dirrell just isn't a draw and Lucian Bute was the champ...and the draw-Listening to dumb/delusional people around him, or people around him possibly throwing up a smokescreen for a real problem. He had a fight with Adonis Stevenson....which he backed out of because there wasn't enough time to train...in a fight that would have made him the #1 contender to Froch's belt, which is a rematch of a fight he claims he wants-Bad move, or they really, really doesn't want him to face a puncher.
Have you ever seen a **** movie where the actors could not act for the life of them? Then you should be able to tell Andre Dirrell was acting. The reason he is gone is that he has a GLASS JAW. Look at this video. At 6:50, they tell Dirrell he won by DQ, and he says "I got knocked out, man!". Then at 8:00, he continues shouting "I got knocked out, man!", and that's where it's just obvious that the whole scene is an act. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j7XpNeGfK8&feature=related[/ame]
The reason no TV stations want Dirrell could be that he takes a knee every 30 seconds and spoils every fight he's in. No one wants to see a ***** boxer.
I think he's pointing out that the Abraham fight wasn't the only fight he has slipped in. I seem to recall him slipping/falling down a lot in the fight against Froch.
I have better things to do than watch a Dirrell fight and count the number of times the ***** cheats. But someone took the time and counted the number of times Dirrell bitched out in the Froch fight. This is why HBO and Showtime want no part of this bum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=fztqCbOUiTY
A question to the threadstarter: Why do you want to know? Would you pay to watch this ***** fight? He has no balls. He is afraid to fight Froch and Abraham again, so he's just chillin' in Floyd's house.
