Steve Kim has a valid point about staying active in order to keep building a name for himself with the casual fans. Andre Ward ain't got the aura and the drawing power of the Sugar Ray Leonards or the DeLaHoyas of this world, therefore he needs to be more active for now. I agree. Ward is not to blame but rather his promoter and the networks that allow fighters to view their careers in such a way once they perceive being on top. If you're not Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather, you should be fighting 3 times per year when able, against the best possible foes, and definitely not on PPV.
these 'promoters' (ie Gary Shaw and Dan Goosen) are dependent on network handouts in order to for their guys to fight. Look at Main Events. Who really knew of Gabe Rosado or Bryant Jennings before 2012? As a result of their NBC series and their small ppvs, they've been showcased and are now title contenders. they are staying active and fighting 4-5 times in 2012. Fighters who have been on a steady premium cable diet won't dare fight on a smaller series like FNF bc they're used to inflated purses from HBO/Showtime. So instead of staying active on smaller shows like they should, we see them 1 or 2 times a year and the casual fans don't know who they are. Andre Ward has a lot going for him, but he should be a much bigger star than he is right now.
This is legit. Its not like Ward just knocked out the LHW champion in a fight that was a mismatch. Bute will do anything to avoid a career ending beating at the hands of Froch. They will ***** and complain and pretend to want a fight with Ward and hope Froch fades with age.
Steve Kim is ****ing ******ed ****. Guy knows nothing and is a total attention ***** wannabe. This **** thinks he is more important that the fighters, total pretentious cocknob.
Kim is a ********. Ward had a busted hand, then took on the biggest challenge near his weight class in his first fight back.
He'll carry him to that point, every time he wants to fall down grab him and pull him up. Just to prolong the beating.
