I like Paulie, but damn it's frustrating to know he can't pop a balloon with his power.

 

He's eight pounds north of where he usually campaigns.

Hell, he's competed all the way down at lightweight as recently as this year.

 

10-9 PM, and I have a feeling that the next few rounds will be virtually identical to the one that just took place.

I'm afraid that's the case. Call me a casual, but fights in which a knockout is virtually impossible to happen, lose a lot of appeal to me unless I'm painfully attached to either of both boxers.

Round 2

Malignaggi puts the quick jab into Cano's face while skating around him. 1-2's by Malignaggi. Cano tries to force his jab in, snapping it out of his high guard. Now Cano tries a reaching hook. Malignaggi is rolling his shoulders in and ducking to slip shots. Right hand by Cano, answered back by Malignaggi. Left hook by Malignaggi, and a big overhand right just misses as Cano leans back. Malignaggi steps in and chops away with his right hand as Cano lands a low blow while going to the body. Malignaggi threads his 1-2 in between Cano's gloves. Cano is cut.
