Danny Garcia: Lucas Matthysse to me isn't one of the best. Doesn't even have a title

matthysse is going to be a great bet in that fight.

 

Danny wants BIG fights.....probably over valuing his stock at the moment but who can blame the kid. Matthysse is a perfect fight in this situation given both are young, hungry fighters who have a lot to prove...still.

The stance Danny is taking is one that shows he's looking for the money fights...even though those are still out of reach...he's trying to play the best he can with the cards he presently has. The title helps him some....but he's not landing fights with PAC or Floyd that's for sure.

Mattysse is a HIGH risk with decent return should he win....It would definitley help his legitimacy as a top level fighter at 140 but financially it wouldn't bring is as much as the fight with EM.

Losing to Mattysse would be a HUGE set back and one that I believe would happen if they faced. I don't think it's a smart decision to fight Lucas.....but I would give him MAD props if he did....if he won? I would be very surprised but give Danny full credit depending on how he won.

Poor Matthysse, That's what you get for looking like a killer in the last couple fights.

 

The fight will probably happen...Lucas is in the mandatory spot and unless Danny is fighting Rios, I dont see who else could bring him much money at 140.

 

I'm not sure how much longer the WBC will allow Garcia to hold both the WBA & the WBC belts.

IF push comes to shove I'm almost positive that TEAM Garcia will drop the WBC & hold the Ring & WBA super JWW belts.

I think Matthysse is screwed...
Anyone know who the #1 contender is in the WBA?
IF it's Rios then... another roadblock.

 

matthysse is a great fight for him. its a step up from morales and khan and above all else would be VERY ENTERTAINING

Matthysse is the best bout they can now make. Dangerous bout though.

 

Team Haymon will do they same thing they do with the rest of the fighters from their stable : pick safe, winnable fights. Meaning a fight with Rios OR Matthysse is out of the question.

 

Haymon won't make the Matthysse fight. Count on it. Not enough money and way too dangerous. i think Lucas would win handily.
