There was no need for a rematch until Geale earned it. Mundine is past his prime but he isn't shot, he still gets shots off, he still has the speed. He has put clinics on his last few fights. True none are against someone of Geales level but he hasn't fallen off like Morales. Mundine can't do roadwork properly due to his hip and he can't "run" in the ring, the fact is he didn't run in the first fight, he stood, fought and pressed forward when needed. The skills he used in the 1st fight are all there, Geale still only has workrate on Choc - nothing has changed. Mundine isn't a war torn fighter, he is young in boxing terms and never been beat up like Katsidis has in his career. Everything points to a win for Choc.
I understand your argument, but everything you have pointed out works in geales favour, Better opponents Bad hip Pressing forward (perfect for geales style) He hasnt been beat uplike Katsidis no, but katsidis turns all his fights into wars. He has though, been KO'd afterbeing worn down.Geale has never been ko'd. Conditioning will be the factor in this fight. Mudine has looked gassed in fights where the pressureis applied and he cant dictate the pace, im sorry, but if he cant run, he's missing out on some needed conditioning there. Speed means nothing if you have no lungs.
Geales "better" opposition have been classically trained European style fighters, much like Geale. Not good preparation for Choc. His bad hip made Choc look shot against Falliga, not in any other fight. Mundine hasn't suffered a KO defeat after being worn down. Ottke and Wood did not wear him down. When Mundine comes forward he throws punches and doesn't just walk with a high guard like Sturm. Geale can't fight going backwards. We both agree Mundine is going to be aggressive in this fight anyway, I think that it spells trouble for Geale. If Geale wants to win he has to bully Choc if he can and try and land the left hook frequently - I can't envisage this happening though.
I know Choc is going to struggle in this fight but that doesnt me supporting da man. Left Hook Booooom, down goes Geale :happy:happy
You should be able to get long odds on that from the betting agencies. Assuming you've got the courage to put your money where your mouth is of course
Teke has balls of steel. Unfortunately for him his not always correct, thus losing 2 years of his avatar. My money will also go on Mundine KO. Value for money odds.
I fear for Mundines safety in this fight he is too old and has had a poor level of opponent on the other hand Geale has excelled in leaps and bounds which has culminated in two excellent title wins overseas. Nut huggers your argument is invalid.
