Iran Barkley vs. Vinny Pazienza at 168

Barkley would smother Paz & land punishing shots all fight long. Paz didn't have the punch at this weight to keep a brawler like Iran off of him. Barkley 12 UD.

Paz was fast, tough, and even a little bit talented. Iran Might have knocked him through the ropes early, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Vinny made a fight out of it. I liked Pazienza. He was a tad cocky and had a big mouth to be sure, but he was also a real showman and a fun boxer to watch. Paz was fast on his feet. He had a nice sting to his punches. Didn't have a problem going the distance and keeping his punch stats up, while also having a huge heart. He rarely showed intimidation either.

 

I think Barkley clubs Paz half to death in 5 or 6 rounds.

Think Paz's steriod use makes Tommy Morrison look like a monk.

 

Barkley isn't that great and Pazienza isn't that bad either. Although he was an insufferable over cocky loudmouth with delusions of grandeur, Vinnie could move, had tons of energy, could, when he settled down a bit, box some, and that would be enough to carry him through to the distance. Barkley by a close, sloppy decision, and even maybe a draw, or a highly disputed decision for Pazienza.

Vinny for all his faults was tough and had a big heart and there's no known way he'd be **** scared of Barkley like Darrin Van Horn was.

Iran with his clubbing punches would land enough to get the win but I doubt he stops Vinny and certainly not early. Vinny stood up to a peak Jones for 6 rounds and even won a round and Jones is in another league entirely to Barkley as a fighter.

Paz might have been some of the things you guys are saying at lower weights(i never thought he was much of a fighter myself) but at 168 he was mediocre at best.

He couldn't even beat an ancient shot Herol Graham.Could barely even land a punch on him.Christ that was a bad fight.

Barkley was fading himself by this point and had abandoned much of whatever skills he had at 160 in favour of thoroughly crude slugging, but he should still have more than enough to beat the tar right out Pazienza and walk through anything vinnie throws.

 

Don't know if you're being srcastic or not but if you are I'll just point out that Jones circa 94-96 didn't lose a whole lot of rounds, matter of fact he lost virtually none.

Paz was woefully overmatched against Roy but he had a dip and nicked a round on two of the judges cads, something James Toney couldn't do, which shows he came to fight (at the beginning anyway) and since this is his most noteworthy fight at 168 it deserves to be recognised.
