When will the myth that Khan was dominating or easily winning vs Garica end?

From what I remember, the very first punch that Garcia threw in the fight was a counter left-hook. He was looking for that punch from the opening bell, and as soon as he landed it just right the fight was pretty much over. The annoying thing is that Khan didn't even need to rush in throwing wide combinations. He has height/reach and a decent jab. If he'd just sat back and waited for Garcia to come to him (while picking him off with jabs and straights from range) the fight would have been very different. Even the footage of Khan sparring (in preparation for the Garcia fight) says it all, really -- he was trying to slug it out with his opponent, and getting hit with big shots. He looked sloppy and open.

Hunter should show him the footage of the Garcia fight, then the footage of the Prescott fight -- in both cases, Khan jumps in throwing punches at close range and is caught by a counter left-hook that hurts him badly. He should work on keeping his hand up to cover the right side of his face while throwing during padwork, sparring, etc, and he should also avoid getting into those close range exchanges. There's absolutely no need for him to be doing that. He should rely on straight shots from a distance. I just don't know if Hunter (or any coach) can help him achieve the right mindset.

 

Danny Garcia's biggest supporter, his trainer, his cornerman his father, thought Khan was taking Danny apart after the first two rounds.

Khan was landed close to 50% of all his punches a huge number of power punches and had cut Danny over his right eye and had causing swelling over the left eye.

All after the first two rounds.

Garcia was missing lots and was getting beaten to the punch.


Round 1 and 2 are comfortable Khan rounds, if you disagree with this you don't know boxing.

BS, Khan WAS dominating. You guys are making too much of a guy who beat old man Morales twice and then got lucky against Khan. Mark my words, Garcia will lose rather easily once he fights a top level fighter near his age. In fact, I think Khan would win if there was a rematch.

Khan blocked most of those shots and Garcia was swinging wildly

He did have some successful counters but overall those big shots Garcia threw were either blocked or evaded

CompuBox showed that Garcia was hardly landing ... but go ahead argue with the numbers and facts
