Yeah, & to prove it George is fighting a former world champion even older & more washed up than Robin Reid!

    Go George!

I wouldn't fancy giving a guy I hated a good pay day. Everyone knows groves wins anyway so there's no point.

    @brown bomber - you're welcome

How on earth is Johnson more washed up then Robin Reid?

I'm a massive fan of Rob's but there is no way he'd last 12 with Bute at this stage.

Nice try. Johnson would still batter Reid and Anderson.

Because Dunky is desperately wanting to believe Groves is scared of Anderson.

ach I know lads, what am I like, eh?

Bringing up the fact that Groves could have rematched arch nemesis Kenny Anderson, but chose instead to bring an old timer out of retirement instead!

You see, I listened to a radio show where everyone was coming in congratulating Glencoffe on a great career & happy retirement & he was lapping it up, then lo & behold hes BACK! Against the great George Groves himself!

So all of a sudden, Glencoffe Johnson is much superior to Robin Reid, despite the fact hes older AND retired.

    What am I like, eh?:D

He shouldn't have to do it again though should he? No fighter has the god given right to demand a rematch unless thats written into the original fights contract, it wasn't here so its a mute point. Sure when a fights a classic, a robbery or a genuine 50/50 decision fans want and fighters should if they can provide a rematch. Groves vs Anderson was none of those things.

Groves evidently has Anderson down as a ***** and I can see why, theres no reason he should put money in this guys pocket by fighting him again. Success is the best revenge, Groves is going places Anderson never has and never will be.

I bet he won't still have that belt this time next year.

Stop making ridicolous statements, you only highlight your own stupidity. Your a sad sight really, a never was trying to beg friends with a C level fighter. In the grand scheme of things Andersons a nobody. I bet he still wouldn't pick up if you called him though.

That may be the case but my point is, that as a man Groves should fight Anderson, for his own pride more than anything, sod this payday talk, that is an excuse that is used all the time in boxing and I find it pathetic, money can't buy you self respect.

TBH look at how Anderson performed the other day, Groves is so much better he should of made as the kids call it #lightwork. Even with a injury, fight. Smash him to bits and end any talk. Instead we get press conferences, injury's with a week or two to go and then all the other nonsense.

    Pathetic saga really..

You do know Robin retired after losing to Froch back in 2007 and only returned early in 2011? And that Johnson will only have been out of the ring for 5 months by the time of his bout with Groves?

Oh for Heaven's sake. Look, if Anderson had been offered a shot at a title, I'm pretty sure he'd have ****ed Groves off. It's not nonsense, regardless of the excuse they made.

Fighters do it all the time. Boxing is the least honourable sport out there.

Didn't he retire after losing to Lacy as well, or did I imagine that?

I'm guessing its cos of all the **** he's been getting if its true about the threats then that's bang out if order like, over a boxing match??

I'm a fan if both fighters and the pull outs by groves were poor form but not to where they needed to lead to threats and abuse of his wife cos if it.
