If YOU were Joe Calzaghe, would you come out of retirement to fight Andre Ward?

    Hiya pal, how's things?

You're probably right, it was just a guess, based on what Woods got. Although Woods was four years later.

There's no way Joe would have fought for the payday that the likes of Woods, Grant and Frazier got.

    Regards, Loudon.

Before I spend a long time blasting out you other posts.
This shows just how you are making posts based on opinions and thoughts rather than facts, which is why you keep getting owned. I thought you would have learned by now.
So you guessed a figure for Grant and were not even talking facts .
Where has Joe said he wanted millions?
I could say I want the crown jewels about doing a job, doesnt mean I really do, just want to be paid well, when you are still going to do the job.
How do you know Calzaghe wouldnt accept 300K? Was he offered that? The answer to all this is that you are making things up to suit your hurt and agenda and here your very own fall man o Zod has exposed you. In future he will have to PM you, to save on you being embarrassed again like this, because all along I have shown how you have no argurement and just post on your opinion and believe that is correct when here you have found yourself to be wrong again.
Try and stick to facts Loudon, because your opinions and what you think have been proved to be wrong every time

    Bailey,

    You can't blast out anything!

General Zod has informed me that Grant got less than what I said. That makes your argument even WEAKER!

Now it's a fair point, that I guessed the amount. But the thing is, I could have researched it properly, and so could you, but I didn't, because I didn't see the point.

I've guessed the Woods amount too, and if you want the exact amount, I'll find it. But the reason I haven't researched the exact amounts, is because it wasn't really relevant to the point that I was making.

    My point was,

Frazier, Woods and Grant, were happy to fight in America, at 175, and for less than a million dollars (the exact amount again is irrelevant)

The point is, Joe didn't want to fight in America, at 175, and because of his crown jewels comment, we know that he wouldn't have accepted whatever the amount the others got paid.

That's the point I was making.

It doesn't matter if Grant got paid $100,000

I didn't need the exact figure to make that point.

Out of everything I've put, that's the only thing that I've guessed. Everything else can be backed up.

What do you think he meant when he said he wanted the crown jewels?

It's safe to assume, he was talking about a lot!

Not really the same though is it? That's a bad example to use.

He told various reporters that he'd want the crown jewels to get in the ring with Roy.

So how the **** would he have been willing to accept $300,000?

    Don't be an idiot!

Look, I knew when I typed it, that it was only a rough guess, and you or someone may come back. But I didn't look into it, because it wasn't important. It's got absolutely nothing to do with the argument I put forward.

    It was an educated guess.

Zod can correct me whenever he wants, I respect his knowledge and welcome his opinion.

You're too daft to realise that Zod correcting me, has actually weakened YOUR argument even further.

There's absolutely nothing else in any of my posts that I've guessed.

Pull them up one by one if you want, and we'll go through them.

And don't just answer my questions with questions.

I enjoy our debates, and I will answer absolutely any question you have, but please answer my questions that I've asked you first.

    [/quote]

I haven't been embarrassed in any way!

Again my opinion was, that Grant got paid less than a million, and because of Joe's comments, I know that he wouldn't have been willing to fight for Grant's purse.

It doesn't matter what the exact amount was.

So go away, and respond to my posts.

    Regards, Loudon.

Sakio Bika has never looked less than good in a fight. He gave Calzaghe, Bute and Ward their toughest fights (minus Froch vs Bute).

I really cant believe you are still copying and pasting the same posts over and over again.

    After the Calzaghe-Reid fight
    http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Boxing...he.-a060444934

Calzaghe's level of competition dropped after the Reid fight. After that he only fought guys he was 100% sure he could beat. He had no interest in chasing tough fights, said so himself, which is why his resume is full of Sobots, Pudwill and Mgers. He wouldnt even fight Pavlik

Yeah, but Ward's best win of Kessler was a worse Kessler than Joe fought and Ward has no-one else near that level apart from Froch who lost to Kessler whereas Calzaghe has Hopkins, Bika (saying Calaghe was a better fighter than Ward) Mitchell and Lacy as well as others. Pavlik was exposed by BHop who Calzaghe beat so doesn't matter

As stated above, Calzaghe don't have the heart to take on tough fights. See further evidence by looking at his career.

Cleary, he could have done much more and had the ability to do it as well.

    No.

Calzaghe in his prime would have a tough enough time with Ward. He's like 40 years old now and hasn't fought in 4 years.

    Just enjoy your retirement.

All true, but that's not relevant to the points we're making.

Bailey really believes that Joe chased Roy, and was desperate for the fight, when clearly he wasn't.
