Glencoffe Johnson is as bad an opponent as Reid at this stage of his career.

Hes ancient. Coming out of retirement. Hes dropped down from the division where he had his best successes, & looks like a prune hes so old & dried out looking!

Froch & Bute had easy nights against him(ok Froch switched off & lost 2 rounds max as a result) & in his last fight he lost to an utterly average fighter.
Now hes been plucked out of retirement for Groves to bash up, & we are supposed to believe this is George "different levelling" from Kenny Anderson?

its not biased Mr T, its an honest opinion! If Anderson can be bashed here about fighting an old faded former champ, then anyone else who does the same is fair game!

Come on DFT, you know Im right about old Glen, its an opponent who like Reid could prove a handful for a couple of rounds before Groves gives him a good lickin':deal

Groves is talented, just cos I dont like him doesnt mean I dont respect him, I mean if Anderson got a rematch I wouldnt be on here confidently predicting Kenny would reverse the first fight.

So for a guy like Groves to be feasting on the remains of Johnsons career? Im not buying it. When Groves stops him in the first half of the fight, you wont find me backslapping him for a great win, like many on here will do.

It would be funny to be proven wrong & see the weight drained prune giving a good account of himself & dragging Groves into deep waters, but I wont be. Put your house on a Groves stoppage.

 

I still think johnson is a harder fight than reid however johnson looked an old fighter in his scrap with fonfara. Its started to look like his wars and the tough fights have caught up with him.

I 100% agree. Groves will probably batter Kenny in a rematch but he still deserves one regardless. Groves needs to man up, stop whinging on Twitter about how he's at another level and just fight Kenny, man to man, 1 on 1. What better way to shut someone up than by punching them out?

I will say this though, anybody who sends Groves or his family death threats or sends racist abuse to his girlfriend needs to f***ing do one. Absolutely unacceptable, you're not doing Anderson any favours with that sort of disgusting behaviour.

 

fair play Smoggy, I accept that in the shot stakes Reid has been 'past it' longer than Johnson, but both men are way past it now, & people slating Anderson & bigging up Groves for fighting old faded fighters need to have a long hard look at themselves...

as for the twitter stuff, Im sure Kenny said the guy had nothing to do with him, but it seems if you want to be a celeb on twitter, you have to realise theres a lot of nutters & weirdos out there & just take it on the chin.

Seen a big square jawed english lassie with red hair from holby city was stalked on twitter recently by some deranged young female fan who had met her & had to call the police in, to me that seems to be the norm & I cant understand any celeb who wants to leave themselves open to daily abuse!

the problem i see with twitter it has hard to tell who is who, this is bit like the fury/price stuff, where no family members or close friends are invovled (id like to think so) but fans of fighters throwing insults about towards fighters which makes them think there involved in the other fighters camp.

There's no way Groves would tweet about death threats unless that's true, who they have come from is only for them to know I guess. I remember at the time it was in the papers

so reid is a similar level of test as johnson. the same reid who was terrible on prizefighter and has been retired for something like 4 of the last 5 years? the same johnson who just recently went 12 rounds with froch and made im work for it?
