You don't think that Oscar was "one of the better fighters" at 154 in terms of H2H ability at the time?

But the question is specifically Floyd's resume, not his legacy as a champion or titleholder. Who he failed to fight is a separate issue from the quality of the fighters he actually did fight.

I vote "B" (B- specifically) because he fought some solid, decent comp, but not truly great because many were past their primes and/or out of their best weight classes.

B is the correct response. Anything higher or lower is incorrect. Here's why:

No Floyd has not legitimately unified either division (having only fought twice at sww), but he's been fighting PFP fighters, divisional champions or legitimate threats.

Fighters Floyd fought that were PFP on fight night:

    DLH
    Hatton
    Mosley
    Marquez
    Cotto

These are all top-notch guys (or at least they were at the time Floyd fought them [Hatton]). Floyd's other opponents at 147, Judah, Mitchell, Baldomir, were strong, decisive wins against (at the time) top competition. His list could certainly be better, but it's also not poor by any means.

There's zero chance he deserves an A. And a C undermines the fact that, while he didn't fight often enough, he did typically fight PFP fighters/champions/legitimate divisional threats.

    B. End of story.

this something I can never understand why people say this, so if this is the case when was Floyd prime and what was his best weight class
it seems people are of the opinion that Floyd has a perpetual prime that is forever and every weight class he has fought in is his best weight class he is the only fighter that people seem to think that he is eternal

I don't know where you get your information from, but (to my knowledge) Floyd never ducked Cotto or Margarito. The whole "Floyd turned down 8 mill. to fight Margarito" thing is bull**** since Floyd made 9.5ish to fight Baldomir. Also, what did/do Cotto, Margarito, Pac all have in common? That's right, the same promoter. I'm not saying Floyd's never ducked a fighter, but it is interesting that all the fighters Floyd allegedly ducked/ducks are promoted by the same person (weasel piece of **** might I add).

As far as PWill goes, who knows?! Anyone would've loved to see it.

And his wins at 154 are legit. DLH/Cotto top notch guys at 154 when Floyd fought them. And both times Floyd moved up to their weight.

  7. Agreed, also Ortiz PRIME?? a Prime c class fighter green and dumb. On top of that how many of them were OLD.

"B" He has a solid resume. He lacks the "Wow!" foe. Mostly due to the fact that there really hasn't been a "Wow!" Oppoent outside of Pacquiao who has done every thing not to face Mayweather. Anyone else has been either over hyped or inconsistnt.

All of Floyd's notable wins are versus fighters coming off wins and in some cases spectacular wins (Mosley, Ortiz, arguably Cotto?).

How in the **** can anyone call his run at WW/JMW "average"?

I have a feeling these same idiots would be sucking certain other fighters' dicks if they had Mayweather's WW/JMW resume, but he gets held up to a higher standard than anyone else in boxing today.

So just slightly above average? Care to name just five current fighters who have taken on and beaten better comp at WW/JMW than Floyd? :think
