Of course he is. He has been dominant and showed amazing skills for 16 years. Would rate much higher if he fought more often and ceaned out more than just 130 (where he left some unfinished business too) instead of picking and choosing opponents based on money. But he's done enlightened to be amongst the top 25 or 30 fighters ever.

There are posters that i respect regardless of their pov. There are some I ignore and my favorite are the ones who talk non-sense. I wonder what category they fall in.

 

He's an ATG, no question. In his early years, he was a very fan friendly fighter with good power in both hands. He could fight in close quarters/phone booth style or he could pick a fighter apart from the outside pretty easily.

It's hard to argue how he's not one of the greatest pure boxers in the history of the sport. He's obviously become more judicious with his punch rate as he's gotten older and gone up in weight classes, but his defense is still so sublime that he makes world champions still look like club fighters.

There was someone who mentioned how he's never been in a FOTY. Usually most of the fighters who end up in that category have obvious flaws to their defensive techniques. Floyd's probably a top 3 or 4 defensive wizard of all time, so it would be almost a veritable impossibility for any of his fights to be candidates for FOTY.

I know he's a very polarizing figure on here, but if you try to view him from a neutral perspective you have to marvel at the man's skills and capabilities. Some of these compubox statistics I've seen over the past few years are mind boggling, especially when you factor in the level of opposition he's still doing it against at 35 years old.
