Glovtards are quick to big note him winning sparring sessions but when Cotto beats his ass it's just sparring..
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgzGY7-ZW6w[/ame] He talks as if there hasn't been any sparring between the two yet, and likely won't be since Cotto is leaving Big Bear this week. He does say that Cotto could be sparring Carson Jones, though.
GGG doesn't go all out when he spars guys his own size or smaller, that's why his trainers makes him spar with light heavies, cruisers and heavies.
Take the head gear off and see how good Cotto feels about GGG after 6 rounds of GGG eating his punches like skittles and throwing bombs back. Toying with a crude brawler like GGG is a good time until he splits your head down the middle.
I have never put much in to the sparring stories of Golovkin... The only thing i find quite remarkable is that he fights light heavies and cruisers for sparring though..
people are talking about this like its fact. firstly... this might or might not have happened. secondly... its just sparring.
Remember, John Ruiz was supposed to have put Lennox down and out in sparring? Lamont Petersons brother is supposed to have put a lesson on Floyd in sparring? OK THEN.
I have seen video clips of Floyd woefully out of shape while sparring after a long layoff. Wouldnd suprise me a bit if that were true. I have a bit harder time believing the Ruiz story, but who knows. I guess the point is its not about sparring. Its about what you do with the 10 or 12 oz. gloves with no headgear and when the lights are on and the people are all there to witness. Right?:good
Golovkin has been getting a lot of love lately and seems to be pretty universally liked, but really who would pick him over Cotto h2h even without this news? Golovkin is still too green for a damn star veteran like Cotto.
