Cotto is not small. He's just short. He was 155+ in the ring in his 140 fights. He's a natural 154 lber, probably coming into the rign in the mid 160s. and beating Cotto doesn't really mean much. He's a predictable B level fighter.
Mayweather Pacquaio Marquez Wlad Ward(maybe) Martinez(probably not) Cotto's a 2-3 steps below everyone on that list in talent and skill.
cotto goes about 5'6" and canelo about 5'7". how many successful and natural jmw's in the history of boxing have there been at 5'6" and 5'7"? jmw's have always been 5'9" to 5'11". agreed that cotto is b-level at 154 but he was a-level at 147. he beat a near-prime mosely and clottey hindered by a severe headbut suffered in the third round.
Pretty much. Cotto is still an elite fighter. He might not be the undefeated guy who stepped in the ring with Margo the first time, but he is still great.
Sure why not? Afterall Cotto was shot by the time he got to Manny but became unshot and rejuvenated by the time he got to Mayweather. So if Trout beats an unshot and rejuvenated Cotto, sure he will be considered elite. Ofcourse, you will have your YDKSAB people who will say that Cotto is once again shot to **** because Mayweather finished him.
never gets old. i'm sure, *****s are cringing everytime they remember branding cotto as shot before and now are taking their own words back.
