Devon Alexander's trainer has said they will defend the title but no way will they come to the UK. How can they say that? If Hearn wins purse bids he can have the fight in Africa if he wants and they'd have to fight there or vacate

If Hearn wins the purse bids he'll have to vacate, if he won't travel.

Not sure why American fighters are such pussies when it comes to getting on a plane.

Saying that, Devon has had the judges in his pocket on more than one occasion, and will like that added security just in case.

i got a feeling Hearn will get the fight here. A win over Alexander puts him into the picture for Khan, Hatton, Maidana, Mallignaggi, Guererro, Berto, Ortiz etc and a win over those guys puts him in the picture for Pacquiao & Mayweather. So they can afford to lose a few quid on the show knowing it will lead to big money later on.

12,000 in the Sheffield Arena, Sky Sports, pretty sure Showtime would purchase this fight too. There money to be made.

He couldn't fill a phonebox if people were looking for shelter from a hurricane,so what bill does he think he'll top?
He'll vacate if the slightest bit of pressure comes down on him. We're not talking about the sort of guy that has the "heart of a champion" here.
Normally I would think no British promoter would have a chance of winning a purse bid but we're talking about a guy with zero box office appeal.Ricky Hatton could sign to fight him at the MEN and people would probably think twice about going.

Belt holder should have first say where the fight is, after all he is the champion. If Hearns wants him here, he better cough up, money talks and if Hearn feels it means a bigger chance of Brook winning, investing like this, it wont matter one iota in the end if it means "AND THE NEWWWWWWWWW!!!!"

I'm a firm believer that world titles should be defended all over the world like they used to be, not just in Las Vegas and the rest of the US.

The idea is "world" champion. Not anymore it seems........

Then they can go "balls in", win the purse and fight there.

Alexander couldn't sell tickets in the unification fight against Bradley. Fighting in the UK would make a much better atmosphere.

if does go to purse bids Alexander better hope GBP win it but that is far from certain, I recall them losing out on the Malignaggi - Senchenko purse bid also.

I'm genuinely asking this here so don't think I'm trying to contradict you and feel free to correct me,but I'm sure it was either the Maidana or Matthyse fight where the commentary said ticket sales were very disappointing.
I could well be wrong though, just sure I heard it.

Devon is already saying he wants the Mayweathers and Mannys of the world, which points to him vacating
