I dont think mayweather will fight canelo. It will basically be either cotto or martinez. Now if its martinez and if canelo does far better with martinez even by defeat, his career would be better then chavez jr so you chavez jr fans better hope that's not the case.

    Canelo a G

he'd face anyone its GBP holding him back, now he said enough is enough. Canelo has big dreams in boxing when everything is said and done he wants to be remembered in boxing how Ali is recognized, When someone thinks boxing he wants them to think Canelo. his ambition is duly noted and respected however likely or unlikely it is to happen.

well you couldve included wlad, road warrior, lewis and holyfield as well in that conversation but fighters are generally never the same after suffering a (t)ko loss. in fact, some fighter never fight again(mcclellan, lipsey). if you dont believe me just wait to see what happens to amir khan...who is all but finished at the top level.

you would have to be completely ignorant to not think that being previously(t)ko'd(rhodes, cintron, williams), fighting out of your weight class(josesito, hatton,j. cotto), damaged goods(cintron), shot(mosely), injured(kirkland) are not part of the canelo prerequites for a fight.

thats why hes not fighting lara, molina or trout or anytime soon.

****, hes not even fighting kirkland or angulo in 2013 unless they lose. hell probably fight bundrage once he loses to james.

    sloppy seconds saul alvarez.

unfortunatley for canelo, everyones the same size or bigger than him at 154 so he cant sucker-punch them like he did the 5'3", 110-pound archie solis after he realized he was getting sloppy seconds from his novia.

what kind of guy sucker-punches a man that is the size of a 12-year-old boy?

So now if you lost to Pavlik you are a bum? :-( :huh

Who has Canelo fought that makes his resume even comparable to Chavez Jr's resume? I am not a Jr fan but you can clearly see that Jr has faced better competition than Canelo and they were all ranked

Are you kidding? Zbik is on the same level with rhodes when rhodes was the number 1 contender to canelo title if you forgot about that one and canelo easily beat him up while chavez barely survive vs feather fister zbik in which this is the same zbik that got tko to feather fisted sturm for goodness sake. Rubio? Please he didnt even try vs pavlik and is nothing special at all in fact i rate cintron win over angulo over rubio win over david anyday of the week twice on sunday. Mandredo jr? The man lost to far far far damage good lacy and hasnt done crap after the tv show "the contender".

Canelo's recent run has been pretty bad by anyone's standards. At least he's trying to step up I guess, all be it only for the payday. He comes across as extremely pampered to me, he doesn't have the legacy of say Floyd or Manny to really warrant this sense of self-entitlement. Still he draws I guess, and that's all the matters in this business now apparently :conf

    Are you kidding?

sebastain zbik was an undefeated fighter who had never been knocked down in 28 fights.

ryan rhodes had been previously (t)ko'd.

    twice.

agree that the rhodes fight was a solid win for canelo. its what has happened thereafter that is total fraud and bull****, bull**** that wbc president jose suliaman has recently called out.

trying to compare the resume of jr to that of canelo is simply not an argument worthy of debate. its actually ignorant.

And? who was the first one to tko zbik? you guess it sturm in which chavez jr who hits way way way harder then sturm, couldnt come close of stopping zbik in which tells me easily that zbik was never a real good fighter. Only a dumb a$$ would think zbik was really good.

Zbik the way he got tko by feather fisted sturm easily tells me like i said before he was never a real good fighter in which also tells me he's in the same level as rhodes. In fact zbik should retired.
