I don't think days like this are sad, its days like this that show me, that there are other passionate emotional fans like me.

Its a time to look back and pay our respects, Emanuel Steward was a loyal passionate boxing pioneer.

Its a end of a era unfolding before our eye's! Not just in boxing, but sport and culture.

Devoted his life to the sport and was a role model. How many people have the sort of impact that he had? He took a group of kids from inner city Detroit and took them from amateur tournaments to the very pinnacle of the sport.

Look at the effect he had on Wlads career and Lennox's career after their respective losses he consistently proved his worth at the top level.

Single handedly built the Kronk and all the fighters associated with it and made it a Mecca for boxers and fans alike.

I enjoyed hearing how during Toney/Rahman he spoke of a conversation he had with James once over the phone:

J.T I hear you got a new middleweight at the Kronk

E.S Yeah he's real good James

J.T I'm gonna come down and whoop his ass

Steward was really fond of him by the sounds of it.

This to me just epitomises Manny, even in his professional role you just couldnt keep the fan of the sport that he was repressed in him.

It was not so long ago, that there was a clip of Steward on sky sports. Dancing around the ring, while doing pad work with Kiltschko.

At 6.00 in this video. Manny's fire never dulled.

I had the pleasure of Manny's company for over an hour earlier this year. I crapped it but he was a lovely man. Made my job of interviewing him very easy

A lot of favourites, many already posted. I enjoyed his tackle of Evander Holyfield after they won the title against Bowe. His pure class when he told Tyson, I believe at the end of Tyson/Lewis, how big a fan he was of him and all the exciting knockouts he gave us over the years. His being visibly highly tickled at David Haye's decapitation shirt that pissed off his guy so much.
