It's a ***** ass way to fight. What little ***** goes straight for the wrestle because they are afraid to get hit like a *****? Also, who the **** pays a man to wrap their legs around them? What's sad is, boxers got to do this ****, because there are pussies like you that are so afraid to get hit, you got to wrap your body around another man. That's why mother ****ers get stabbed. That's why mother ****ers started using swords and shields. That's some gladiator ****. 300 you seen it? They us a boxing stance. You know why people developed that stance? Because pussies tried to wrestle and mother ****ers had to get killed. If people would fight like a man, mother ****ers wouldn't get killed.
Guys like bigdog2001 find mma easier because they are into grappling, but this is definitely going to be a two way street. There are going to be guys who don't like the grappling and just want to strike. It happens all the time. People start in one sport and their cross training gets them into another. Sergio Martinez was into bicycle racing and soccer and he thought that boxing would help him with cardio or something. Deontay Wilder wanted to be a football player. What's important is that we keep the gyms full so that these types of cross-pollinations can happen, and we beef up our amateur programs so that young people can develop their talents correctly. MMA is a general fighting art, whereas boxing is a specialized martial art. Boxing is a pure expression of one part of fighting that is taken to the absolute extreme that it can go, the same as wrestling. You need to master a range of fighting disciplines in mma so you will never have the time to bring your boxing skills to the level of a top level professional boxer. For people who want the pure stuff, boxing is still going to be the way to go. For people who want striking and aren't into grappling, boxing will still be the go to sport. The fighting pie isn't just getting split between boxing and mma. The pie is getting bigger.
MMA's biggest star jon jones last PPV didn't even crack 400k buys lol the sport is done, their reality show got kicked off spike TV and is now hitting record lows for any TV show EVER. The UFC HW champ is a Z level boxer that couldn't even cut it in brazil HW boxing ( a nation that has only produced 2 champions in the history of boxing ), and he is blasting people with telegraphed left hooks and uppercuts.
btw 9/10 "MMA gyms" were just former strip mall karate dojos that hopped on the bandwagon. $450 a month and your kid can be the next UFC champ! Free spiked hair and fake tattoo kit!
Now for MMA, Dos Santos is a real MMA fighter. Mother ****er doesn't try to wrestle or any of that bull****. He comes to knock you the **** out with his hands.
All the bars where I live have gone back to showing boxing PPV's because the UFC fad fell flat on its face, people got tired of it quick.
ufc = - declining ppv buyrate - declining FOX and FX ratigns - declining traffic of ufc.com since 2010 - mma died in japan - ufc 600 million $ in debt
There you go, no mention of MMA, although it has gained popularity. But yeah, boxing is deeply embedded in Mexican culture.
Boxing has been dieing in North America for years but keeps plugging along and earning money. I'm not to worried about it..I'll keep following it until it's back in roped off squares in timberyards.
