Fully agreed. The mind games Tarver played leading up to the rematch was masterful and strangely underrated and almost forgotten as time went, that deserves as much credit as the big victory itself.

I am a huge Roy fan, and can't help but find what Tarver did to be hilarious..

The way he stalked Roy, and what he said... Totally got Roy to bite hook, line and sinker on doing something way stupid and not worth it..

I think it says a lot about both their characters as fighters. Roy would have got in the ring with anyone, if he was truly chased and provoked... Tarver proved that.. Which is why I dismiss when another fighter said they "chased" Roy.

Nope. Trinidad was totally demoralized having just been humiliated by Wright; so, Trinidad was at the end of his career and Jones was already a shot fighter.

Prime for prime: Calzaghe would have been eating lead left hooks and bolo punches all night. There is a reason Calzaghe waited for Jones to slow down.

Wow to celebrate a victory over a faded legend like Jones speaks volumes about the Calzaghe fans ,I mean what a warrior to put on such a master class of boxing against a shot fighter ,I remember a similar master class that Canelo Alvarez just put on against Mosley ,or the one Danny Garcia just put on against Morales .Calzaghe fans must also hold Larry Holmes win over Ali in the same high regard ..Its truly breath taking to see what kind of warrior it takes to fight a shot fighter and beat them so soundly :lol:

Joe got planted on his backside in round 1 by a well past it version of Jones. It was anything but a master class,it was a fight Jones shouldn't have been in but almost won.
Joe won some good fights this wasn't one of them.

Its the equivalent of 40 year old Ali putting prime Holmes on his back on round 1.

Did Ali go on to produce two of his finest performances (Sheika and Lacy) after like Jones did?

The fight was at 81kg. What Cruiserweight has Green ever knocked out?

what a load of shitcock. Sheika and Lacy werent good to begin with, never mind wehn they were on the fade.

old Ali might have beaten faded journeymen from the 70s, course he could - but anyone who classed them as his finest performances needs their bloody head seeing to.

You saying Sheika and Lacy are RJJ finest performances? Thats an insult to the man.

Lacy was 5'10 SMW fighting Jones at LH. Sheika is a nobody with 32 wins 11 losses.
