Wasn't this fight scheduled before and called off for some reason? Good fight make it happen.

It will be a great test for Wilder, but it's a complete joke in terms of Showtime exposure and GBP's recent hype.

    Sad, really.

    This.

As much as I support Wilder, (even after the incredibly embarrassing McCreary matchup) it's really starting to get old. He has NEVER been tested. We have no idea how he'll react when a strong, fast fighter actually comes at him. - Nor do we know how he'll fare if taken into deep rounds.

Neither of these thing can quite be replicated in sparring, it's just not quite the same.

Sadly, the aging, light-fisted can-crusher Price will not likely pose any threat at all, and so another year of wasted potential passes. Sigh ....

Wilder is insane if he takes this fight. Price is the best out there by far. He will kill Wlad if they ever fight. The only guy that can compete with Price is Helenius. Helenius is way underrated.. Both Peter and Brewster said Helenius has a better chin and more power than Wlad. Wilder has a egg chin from what I've been told by a good source.

As others have said, Price beat Tor Hamer, so he's not that bad as far as step ups go. But when you're 25 fights in, it really is a bit pathetic that you're still in this position to begin with.

That was 2 1/2 years ago, and it was only a SD.

Price is a boxer, not a puncher, so his being 37 is a major factor. Also, other than Thor, his opponents aren't even cans, they're can wannabe's.
He poses absolutely no threat to Wilder.

The only thing that might be mildly interesting is that Price is tall, with a good reach, and seems to have a decent jab. Maybe Deontay will have to actually use his defense for a round or two, before removing Price's head from his body.

I was comparing him to Deontay's past opponents when I said that. Of course, his chances to win are microscopically small, but he'll at least have the potential to cause Wilder a few problems, which at this stage is better than nothing as far as learning experiences go.

The sad reality is that this is still a step up for Wilder. How long can he continue like this? Sooner or later he has to fight someone decent, so we can gauge if he actually has what it takes.

Not sure that it's a wise move for Wilder to step in with Kelvin Price right now. I think this is too big a step up for Wilder, whose career has hitherto been managed exceptionally well.
There is a chance this fight could be competitive, I hope Wilder's management hasn't placed him on the road to ruin to feed their own greedy impulses. Not another ruined young fighter pray God.
