Alot of people don't rate sugar ray leonard in the top of all time is because he didn't have that many fights like julio cesar chavez or roberto duran imo

he admired Hagler a lot. I always noticed he has never said a bad word about Hagler or about his style.

he had a warm spot for Hagler. Hearns didn't as much because he fought him, but Emanuel really liked him a lot. And when Kronk opened in the UK, Marvin showed up for Emanuel.

I love knowing the mutual respect they all had for each other ..I can't blame Tommy I mean these guys were larger than life and their ego's had to match ..

I'm a little bit surprised he didn't have Hearns in the Top 10.

that might have been too obvious. He taught him everything he knew. It was like saying he was the best ever.

Really interesting to read his top 10.

While I have nothing but respect for Manny, I think it's criminal to have Pac over Duran.
And more obviously, surely Leonard/Hearns > Pacquiao ?

For steward to have put pac at 9 without having even faced the #1 or 2 pfp(depends on who you have)says alot.Pac is 25-30 atg tops

    Nice article.
Steward did a great job with many fighters, but I really do wonder if he made Lewis so much better. More specifically, how much of it was down to Steward, and how much was down to Lewis simply becoming more experienced and hence better?
I don't want to disrespect a legend or anything, but in some ways Lewis seemed to regress with Steward.

Not at all. When you start thinking about pac and dont think about Peds what he did is historic. Respect.

interesting stuff from steward (RIP). surprised on how high he ranked pac but in time, people would respect more what he did accomplished.

Again I really don't think he put much stock in the order . To call Duran the best light weight ever is enough of a compliment.
