Unfortunately, I think you're probably right. Broner's power may not carry up as well to 140 though, you never know.
Amir Khan since his lose to Garcia is getting underrated. He has some good wins against Kotelnik who arguably beat Alexander in his next fight, and I scored the Witter fight in Kotelniks favour also, Maidana, Judah and Malignaggi. I favour Khan to win this fight. Broner is unproven at this level and has yet to even fight at 140 lbs.
dont know how good Broner chin is so i will say Khan UD, but as we know every fight is risky with Khans chin, if he had a decent chin he would school Broner!
I'd have to go with Khan at 140....Broner isn't proven at Jr Welter Weight even though he says he can fight all the way up to 147. He's a more dynamic fighter than Khan...meaning has more dimensions to his style but Khan is just as fast and more powerful...he's also bigger... that could be the difference....Not sure if Khan's style would be a problem for Adrien or not but that's also an unkown. Khan is proven at 140 and Broner's not....I can't give anyone the edge who hasn't proven to be effective at a weight that he's never fought at.
Khan's record is hardly a laundry list of scalps. He's beaten light hitting Paulie Mags and long past it Zab Judah. His best win are probably against Kotelnik Marcos Maidana, hardly the stuff of HOFers. So let's not get carried away. We can debate the power issue. I believe Broner's power will carry up a few weight classes. What we do know, however, is that Khan is very ordinary in that category. Similarly what's beyond the dispute is that Broner is much better defensively and has a more diverse offensive arsenal.
More powerful bases on what?? His punching power is rather ordinary, nor is he especially strong physically. Peterson bullied him throughout the second half of the fight, and Garcia had no trouble wading in and dropping with that left hook of his.
What surprised most about Khan was the way he was standing right in front of Garcia he didnt have the same footwork as before. I know they wanted him to sit more on his punches, but standing right in front of a puncher like Garcia BAD IDEA. Khan needs to evolve and change that pitty-patty flashy style he has. Idk if his legs are gone, but he needs to bring back that spring in his legs, keep his right hand high against left hookers, and attack the body more behind a jab. Both him and Ortiz have trouble focusing in fights. Both of them lack common sense sometimes.
