Properly thrown it's the left hook. The torque developed by a properly thrown hook is quite insane. That alone would score KO's. The fact that most fighters focus on their rear hand means it is a devastating weapon because it is hard to see coming and many fighters are not trained to avoid it when it is thrown well and set up nicely. A left hook artist is a very dangerous opponent; especially if they can bang it to the body too. Also the direction the hook comes from often creates a lot of headspin and therefore brain trauma because it comes from the side; a right hand can be hard but sometimes a guy will take it well purely because it hits him straight on and doesn't necessarily cause as much brain trauma.

Right hook or or overhand right? I think uppercuts and the left hook are so effective because they're short and you don't see them coming but not because of their pure power

The overhand right obviously. It use a ball' and chain mechanic and generates massive power

Would have to agree. The power generated from Tua's left hook was ridiculous.

Left hook generally speaking travels the shortest distance and thrown correctly generates the most power..

Most lethal is the one you don't see coming because you don't have time to defend against it. Punching power is only half of the puzzle.

There has been proper scientific research on this. The punch that generates the most force is.......
The rear hand hook. A punch that is rarely thrown and landed.

If it connects clean and your technique is good: the overhand.

Yep...name the one punch KOs and the left hook is the most common.

It's strange, the uppercut can be such a devastating punch, but it rarely causes knockouts as compared to left hooks. Sure there are some exceptions (Saad-Mwale, Spinks-Johnson, Tyson-Frazier), but it's usually in the middle of an exchange where it does damage as opposed to single shots. No one would question the right uppercut of Lewis, but he hit Mavrovic with numerous right uppercuts and he stayed up, hit Tyson with hard right uppercuts and it was the right cross that dropped him, hit Vitali with a big uppercut and he stayed on his feet.

Tyson might have had the best right uppercut ever, but against world class opposition, it was usually a shot that did damage in the middle of an exchange or led to a stoppage. It rarely, if ever, put a guy on the mat.

Mavrovic is dearmed uranium chinned, Vitali is high carbon steel chinned.
They didn't go down by those uppercuts because they can take a "punch"
