I will let Duran fans in on something!! Manny Pacquoui has a better win record than Duran!!!!! But Duran ate a steak and drank 2 gallons of water!!! Manny is greater!! The fab four gets this credit for being better than any other group and I dont know why!!!!

Honestly, these guys at the very least... had an excellent chance vs. Mr. Montreal-

Joe Walcott, Tommy Ryan, Barney Ross, Mickey Walker, Henry Armstrong, Ray Robinson, Kid Gavilan, Carmen Basilio, Emile Griffith, Marlon Starling, Donald Curry, Oscar DeLaHoya, Shane Mosley, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Antonio Margarito (with loaded gloves lol), Paul Williams... you just never no, no****ingbody is unbeatable!

3 guys that he did actually lose to... Leonard (Benitez, Hearns (first fight), and Duran (second fight)), Hearns (when he fought Leonard the first time), and Benitez (when he fought Leonard). I think Montreal Duran loses to them at WW.

You don't know why? They came to fight and had a boxing spirit which has been hard to equal in those lower divisions. They get credit for more than being great fighters and who they beat. Something about their combined different personalities and styles. None of them were the same at all. Duran, great inside fighter and technician, Leonard great boxer, puncher, Hearns boxer puncher with a tall lean jab and best right in the business, Hagler southpaw righty great chin.

I saw a video recently where Hearns was talking to Hagler and Leonard at the Hall of Fame in June and all of them are still intense after all these years. Something was different about them. It isn't about if they could beat Trinidad or Delahoya, it was more thier spirit and when you combine them which comes naturally, it was a rare time.. They sort of put themselves on the line in a unique way which sort of stays in history well. You will not see that combination of fighters again in the same way. And every fight was a story.

    :good Spot on MAG:yep

I watched that reality "fly on the wall" series about Duran today with his family & traveling around the world for shows ect & he was with SRL in Colorado & as they were yapping away at the dinner table you could still feel Leonard was sort of jumpy being in Duran's company. It goes without saying that Duran could'nt give a flying **** as he attacked the buffet, but Ray, even now has the persona of someone who was trying to get & would like to get roberto's respect or at least be shown it. Ray was talking at the dinner table about how Roberto gave him 60 stiches in the 3rd fight & Duran just looked & smirked, said something in spanish which everyone laughed at? proberbly along the lines of " If you did'nt run you **** I would have sparked you" but what you said was so true, 4 incredibly different charactors with supreme skills & individual seperate motivations that all fused into one desire & that was to be KING:yep

I agree. It was a special era. All of them had different styles and personalities, but they all came to fight and loved the knockout. That is why I think their memory will last longer than guys like Floyd or Oscar, not that I am knocking Oscar and Floyd or Shane, but when you think about them you think about the individuals. When you think about Duran, Leonard, Hearns or Hagler, you think about their opponents also. Which magnifies their legend even more all these years later. It has been 23 years since the last fight of those 4 guys , and we think about them as though they are all young. I cannot imagine that Hearns is 54 and Leonard is 56 and Hagler is 58 and Duran is now 61. Just hard to believe. That is why Floyd better fight Manny. He needs a legacy with another great to be remembered. It is funny about those 4 guys. They still look competitive when they are together, although Hearns and Duran seem to be the guys who still think they can still fight. Ray and Marvin look like they accepted age more. I saw Duran on a youtube clip a year or two ago and he was saying he can beat Pacman. He wasn't just saying it. I think he really believes it.

I cannot see this. No way. Milton was tall but he had a 72 or 73 inch reach, which was not really extraordinary. I think Duran gets Milton and stops him in 5 rounds. I like Milton, but he was not in the elite class. Decent jab and he was quick. Curry beating him easily was not a fluke. I remember Milton struggling with Colin Jones in two fights, and Curry easily beating Jones. I didn't expect Milton to be stopped in 2 rounds the way he was, but Curry proved much more prior to that. But I love Milton's personality and he looked like a nice person.

If you told me Mayweather vs. Duran was on the books and I had to bet everything, my money's on Mayweather.
