I'd say the best opportunity other than Pacman would have been Mosley after he had beaten Hatton. But he retired and Mosley vs Cotto happened.

I do think he gets a tad too much stick but if he had fought Pacquiao in 09/10 only a fool could discredit him.

 

Castillo was his best win, and who did Corrales beat to be elite?

True there no ATG in his weight or time at the weight, but there was a Elite fighter in his prime in 08/09 Pacman but Floyd did not want to face him.

 

Pac only fought one and he went through more weightclasses than Floyd.

U forgot + in prime. If that is the case then Floyd has beaten plenty of ATGs. Oscar, Shane, JMM, possibly Corrales and Castillo but they are definitely Hofers.

 

Corrales, at the end of 2000, was so feared and respected that the RING magazine actually elevated him above Mayweather on the Pound for Pound List. Entering their fight, Corrales was #5 and Floyd dropped to #8 after a sub par 2000 calendar year.

Corrales beat Garcia, Gainer, and Manfredy going into the Mayweather fight.

its becuase they rarely take the risk of fighting the opponent the fans want to see him fight.
and if it does happen its usually long past its prime so they dont gain any respect there.
